Did you paint the silver bolts on your bushwackers or use some other bolt?

 

Hey Jim! Just took them all off, got rid of the useless washers, then drilled 20 holes 1/4" diameter in a scrap piece of wood, stuck all the bolts in, wiped with some 400 grit sandpaper, then sprayed them with some primer and satin black spray paint. I tired to plasti dip them, but didn't come out too good.

 

Did some wheeling today with over 15 local TW members!
This truck manages to impress me every time I wheel it.
My daughter and I were watching a few tacos struggling to do the hill climbs, and she goes "why cant they make it? they are four wheel drive too. I saw the front tires spinning!" I look at her and say "not all 4x4 systems are the same" Mine has ATRAC and great suspension

I also came down HARD on a rock I didn't see. Pelfreybilt mid skid did its job tho.

Was driving down the beach looking up at the hill trying to decide what line I was gonna take. Picked one, turned to line it up and BOOM! The whole hill starts laughing!

 

Really dig the look without the chrome caps!
The smallest things can make such a difference.

 

I'm thinking of getting the bushwackers and colormatching it to my paint just for recon haha. So I'm guessing the plasti dip just ripped off when u bolt it on?

I used to rock a 2010 DRZsm. Most fun I ever had on a bike. And I used to ride a lot of race reps. The DRZ was better on any twisty road. Really wanted a husquvarna tho.

Not really. Its just that I tried to do it while on the flare cause I was too lazy to take them off again. Lots of taping, and since there was no gap in between the bolt head and the flare, when I tried to peel off the plastidip from the flare, it would also come off the washer. Better to paint them before you install

 

Thats a rad DRZ! I love mine. I mainly just take it to the twisties, Great bike and yes the most fun you can have on two wheels. Supermoto FTW.

 

So I have a complete damage report from our last outing on sunday. I had to winch out my buddy in his stuck 2wd Titan. After, my winch was acting funny. Turns out it slipped in the elongated holes on one side and was skewed. Got it straighten out and tightened down good. Also respooled my winch line.

This used to be flat too. Cocoa is also checking out the damage.

Not sure how the exhaust crossover didn't get damaged, but this part did.

3rd member. Its not leaking, so not too bad...

Cleaned most of the crushed rock out of the drain bolt.

Nothing on the frame or drive shaft, so not bad. Atleast I got a little bit of real trail damage

 

It looks like those skids held up well I cant wait to get some made by Tyler. Did you ever start making those trailer harness relocate brackets again?

Bullaculla-- Can you tell me how much lift you have? It looks like 3" or so-- What made you decide to stick with the 265/75r16's rather than going up to the 285? I think your truck looks awesome!

 

Nice build, truck looks awesome. I have the same truck ánd I am looking into upgrading the rear bumper with the one you got. How was the install, all bolt on. I am assuming you get rid of the factory hitch? Does the bumper have the same tow rating?

They are great bikes. Wish they had a little more power. 450 would be nice. But still tons of fun.

Nearly 3" in front and 2.5" in the rear. I wanted to go 285s, but I've seen a few stuffed 285 tires tear off the fender flares. I wheel mine often and want as much flex as possible. Plus gas mileage and then i'd want to regear. Also didn't want to do the CMC on such a new truck. When it gets a little older i'm sure i'll go bigger.

The rear bumper is super easy to install. Uses the same bolt holes as the factory hitch. 10 total. Its not rated, but Pelfreybilt claims its bombproof

 

Took the wife and daughter camping this weekend at peacock flats. Had a bunch of fun, but also got a bit of bad news. I was taking a small bypass trail that I had been on before. When I got to the top, a DLNR officer was waiting. I continued to drive on because I didn't realize that I had done anything wrong. He waved me down shaking his head and told me that its automatic court date for not using the designated roads. I told him I've only been here once before and that's the way I was led up, so I wanted to stick to my known route. Also, its basically a fork in the trail with no signs, so it hard not to go that way. Plus it looks way more fun
Anyway, we got to talking about being eco friendly and I told him I try, and we do beach cleanups and tread lightly. I'm usually in 4lo with ATRAC on so I don't spin the wheels much. Then he asks if I ever go to Kaena point, and I was like yeah! we were just hanging out there last weekend! He said they are closing that down to vehicles because of all the destruction of vegetation and trails. People don't stay on designated roads. Bummer...

We hit the Kaena point trail from the Yokohama beach side for a bit before heading up, which was a good thing cause I found a huge kiawe log that I took for firewood.
