Tom, good fucking call on the steel pipe method. Popped that ring off in about 10 whacks.

nice, it's hit or miss with the 2nd gen shafts using that method

edit: make sure to intall new clips or the star will move on the shaft and that will cause it to fail.

what gears would i need?

 

check a gearing chart online with your size tire and to see what you want...
you can regear for power or for better mpg...but regardless doing mods = more weight or less aerodynamics which you waste more fuel

If you don't wheel at all I would highly suggest 4.10's if you can get them.

 

That is one hell of group so far

 

it would be very hard to find a front and rear set of 4.10's
