    got a replacement mirror today from the junkyard if anyone is looking for some parts in the Jacksonville Florida area the LKQ on Normandy Blvd has a 4x4 v6 extended cab truck. it even has manual hubs if someone is looking to convert

    Seems like the general consensus is that folks just get the remanufactured front axles instead of taking the time to mess around with replacing the boots.

    I had never removed the front axles before or taken one apart so I figured i would learn a fair bit by doing it myself. The original axles only have ~ 37 k miles on them so no need to replace but the boots are almost 12 years old so new grease and boots it was.

    I used Toyota's boot replacement kit which comes with the two kinds of grease, the boot clamps and the boots obviously.

    The tool at the top is used to crimp the boot clamps. The OEM boot clamp for the inner boot is a total PITA so I ended up using a Dorman Spedi-Boot kit which worked great.

    I got some American Racing Outlaw 2's a while back from craigslist. I cleaned them up and painted them and got them installed don the truck this morning.
