What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Estimated time to due lbjs and tierods ?

 

Depends on where you live (how much rust) but figure about 2 hours give or take. Someone that's done it a few times probably faster.

 

Been pushing it off for about a month now lol

 

first one might take you 2 hours to figure it out and when you do the other side you will probably get it done in an hour and a half (not including estimated beer drinking time)

Nice! I debated for weeks between staying with 255/85/16 in a KM2 or going with a 33x10.5x15 km2. I ended up going with the 33x10.5 but the 255's look awesome and are definently a little bigger. My worn down spare 255/85 cooper ST is roughly the same size as my brand new 33x10.5 km2's

Good choice on the wheels also. I'm thinking about some level 8 punch 15's

Thanks to SGT Taco, finally finished the stereo install.

I think you're going to be very happy with the results. We covered the back wall, put some behind the rear speakers then did the front doors. I only used roughly half the Ensolite and had 5 sheets of the RAAMmat left over. The doors feel much more solid and rapping on the sheet metal gives a nice dull thread. Just amazed at how much quieter the interior is and how alive the stereo now sounds.

Of course, the Alpine PDX-F4 is helping out too.

 

You could buy them new from the dealer, but that's crazy expensive.

Best bet is to search ebay, craigslist and the marketplace here.

Any issues getting the door panels back on? Looks like you laid the raammat and ensolite really close to the edge.

Also. Any issues getting the inner door handle back on? I couldn't get those plastic barbs to sit back in their holes and the only thing holding them on is the little screw. Mine tend to be crooked because of that.

Plenty issues on getting the door panels back on. When we got to putting them back on, we were on hour 8 or so. Completely forgot about cutting away material from around the holes. I just pressed really hard. May take it back apart and trim up the holes and get new panel fasteners.

The door handles were no problem. Took a little more muscle than usual but got them in just fine.

Really glad you recommended this stuff. Makes an incredible difference.

Yeah I have seen those wheels plenty but I don't think I have ever seen that color combo. I approve!

 

First time seeing those wheels. I think they look a lot like the bronze TRD wheels minus the stupid faux beadlock. I really like those a lot.
