The one thing I really like about snow is it can be just as challenging as the rocks without the risk of damage that rocks have. So I can go wheel the shit out of my rig in it and not worry about breaking shit.

Well in the snow I won't be scraping across rocks and shit, so I likely won't break a CV or driveshaft, I am much less likely to get body damage and such. I mean really the worst you can do is just get stuck and then if you have a winch you winch out or your buddy pulls you out (having a wheeling partner is extra important now haha). Obviously you could slide off a hill or something total the vehicle but that would be "doing something stupid" in my book so that shouldn't be a big issue typically anyway.

Yea, last time I got stuck in the snow there was nothing within the strap length I had to hand winch with... sucked balls. Not going snow wheeling again by myself.

What Brady? you..you have not wheel enough in snow if thats how you feel..Snow hides rocks and you can still easy bang up shit. Plus you slide a lot so no control. pop a bead is usually easier and i think if deep snow breaking a CV is just a likely as crawling on the rocks.

snow sucks. Wet and cold too.

Most of my snow wheeling involves driving on typical forest service type roads that I could take my car down in the summer but are now a challenge for the Tacoma with a few feet of snow so I don't really have to worry about rocks and such. I try to avoid side hilling as much as possible in snow so what sliding I do do isn't as much of a worry and just adds to the challenge. I don't have bead lock nor wide enough tires to worry about going down to low PSI to gain floatation, it just won't happen so 20 psi for extra traction is ideal as I still maintain more ride height there. You have much less traction in snow so you are typically more likely to just spin the tire before you pop a CV, where as in the rocks it is the other way around.

My big point, is when I go rock crawling, I am guaranteed to bang shit up and I seem to break something every other trip out, the crawling I do is just gnarly here. Snow wheeling is at least 50/50, maybe even less carnage related. I just go blaze through some deep snow and do donuts and drift corners and such. I am going to get stuck for sure but typically not so bad that I can't at least dig myself out if someone can't just give me a tug to free me.

Snow just turns super easy trails into fun challenging trails. Cameron, even on his 33's with skids now can't hardly run some of the trails around here, even the bypasses can be pretty challenging with out bumpers.

Yet here we both are having fun with no bumpers and hell Cameron is still on factory tires here.

Get a little stuck and we just got the shovels out and did a little digging and I was free.

That is why I really like snow wheeling. Just a lot less carnage in general as long as you don't mind getting stuck and doing a little digging.

You pretty much have to have a shit ton of lift or some like 15" wide tires at 0 psi to stay on top of it to do that though. I have neither so 2-3' of snow is my limit because I just high-center.

I have..its not fun..haha keeping your rig on top is key..and sliding off the hard pack is a nightmare. Digging, does not help.

Yeah I have no desire to do that, unless I have an extra set of beadlocked 37x15.50's or something. haha

I'm with ya, snow wheeling is a whole different set of challenges. I've got a great snow wheelin set up right now, between the tires, gearing, etc. A little digging and a little winching is part of the fun! ...plus a chance to wear my snow gaiters and gear, hell yeah!
