I greased my 2'' receiver on the truck when I purchased it in the spring to prevent corrosion. When I'm towing it always rattles like crazy! The ball mount drop down is the right size but I can't explain why Toyota would have that much play in the receiver. Any other Tacoma owners have this problem? What about an insert or a shim? Thank you.

mine is the same way in my 2010. when i put my hitch bike rack on, it wobbles all over the place. Seems like its more like 2 1/8". haha. it used to bother me, but now it seems i just dont give crap anymore.

Wrap some duct tape around the reciever where it goes into the hitch... problem solved.
