I'm looking for some running boards and I'd like to see some pictures of various types on tacos. I don't need sliders. I saw some Westin boards, not on a truck, with lights which might be nice since my Mother in Law has no night vision and rides in my truck from time to time. Anybody have them? I'm looking for something that will make it easy for people with SPP to get into the truck. SPP is what my shortest daughter claims to have, Short People Problems. :)

    Thanks,
    mikeg

Oem, I purchased them more for the look and protection to the lower side of the vehicle. They don't help much and most don't even use them when getting in my truck.

I removed the ugly black stockers and replaced it with this. I'm no longer fear my tippie toes would slip from it when it's wet or snow. [IMG]

+++ For the AMP Running Boards. They are really well made and stand behind their product. Super customer service. Sorry, I don't have any pics, but owned them on my '08 Tundra and now on my '13 Taco. It was one of the first "must have" mods that I did.

I went with the el-cheapo black coated carbon steel joints from grille4u.com. They were less than $150, shipped and installed quick and I think they look just fine. I have heard the hard plastic/rubber jump offs are more durable and stay looking new longer though. My 2 cents.

Best "step" ever, it actually works like a step. Expensive but worth it. It gets dings from nothing, the material is really thin, but somehow the way is folded it makes it strong, its rated at 600lbs, I'm not brave enough to test it.

Those are what I want, after I lift... But will likely wire in a switch to turn them off when driving off road.

I like the OEM running boards. To me, they just look cleaner and 'up higher' on the truck. They are expensive.... I bought mine USED and saved a ton of money.

Yes, the factory ones are better looking than the rest IMO also.

But I'm just not a fan of the look of running boards.

That's why if I need them after I lift my truck, I'll get the electric "hide-away" steps.

That looks like it would work well though it's about 3 times as much as I'd like to pay. Especially since it would just be for some part time riders.

    Keep the pictures coming though!

They do look pretty good but I'm not sure that 'up higher' is a selling point in this case since the short folks would like a step. If the step is almost to the door frame, I don't know how much they'll like it.

I am considering taking my running boards off. I find they get in the way when getting in and out of the truck.

I found the same thing on the Canyon I had before my Taco. The shorter folks liked them though. What type are they? They look like the Westin's I saw when I was picking up my bed mat.
