so I will post picks up later but I was just wondering what you all think I have a 2013 tacoma that i bought new almost a year ago, and when I was driving on the freeway the weather strip on the roof came flying off! So my question is do you think warranty will cover it, I'm going to the dealership later today to see what they say... thanks for any input

Well that sucks! Hope they don't try to say it is cosmetic and not warranty it.

    Good luck!

They should absolutely cover it as long as you hadn't modified it

Well if not... Just buy a factory roof rack off Amazon. You're half way through the install now :D

To stop this from happening, I drilled holes in my factory weather stripping and put bolts through it. While I was at it I bolted a roof rack on as well. :D

Good luck OP, sounds like you'll have no problem at all.

One of mine flew off my 05 on the way home from the dealer when I bought it (used) last summer. Way out of warranty so I had to buy another one. I put some 3M molding tape underneath it when I put the new one on. Toyota actually had a TSB on these coming off starting in like 2008. Surprising they are still coming off so frequently. I would have thought they would update the design or take more measures to prevent it during installation.

The rain ditches should have 2 clips to keep the molding on, one up front one in back. If theres no clip up front you need one. I'm shocked these come off so easily as I just removed them to put on a roof rack, mine were pretty solid. If you're going to own your truck for a long time and live in a cold state it's not a bad idea to pull them every year and check for corrosion any way. Nice place for salt residue to hide.

Lost mine and they wouldn't warranty it when the noticed I'd had a roof rack on it at one point. $65 later I had another one.
