It is also my understanding that when you go up in over all diameter of the tire, you have to buy speedometer recalibration equipment right?

You can but it's not required. I have not yet and I've gone from stock 245/70r17 up to 295/75r16 with a re-gear to 4.56
My speedo is off by about 10mph right now.

Next week I'll be trying the 35x12.5x17's on and see how it fares with them.

Well there is just too much badassery in your build for it all to be perfect i guess....

I know i would be OCD about dialing my speedo in for my tires if it went up in size...but that is just me.

Many have zero issues but I've seen too many retreads blown apart on the road.

I know a regular tire can fail too but I just don't feel 100% comfortable.

    Just my $.02

Maybe that is why my ultragauge reads different....f**k man i don't know anymore. I think my tires look damn small on there but they work...so i shouldn't complain. And as for the speedo, if it is off, the officer who stops me someday will let me know i guess.

This is why i want a dual sport motorcycle....hooligan and wreck the dirt bike up and save/be responsible with the taco. Plus the gas milage of a motorcycle is really enticing.

I'll grow up eventually...it is societies fualt that youth and hooliganism is so praised!

When im in my truck I typically drive 5-10 over and that's it, have been pulled over a few times for speeding more then that but have been let off. Driving my car on the other hand I am a little more inclined to :burnrubber:, in fact I just got a ticket on the way home from the steven's Toyota meet  Stupid VA state troopers! haha

Thinking about it now, my only 2 tickets iv got on my record have been from coming from TW events..

    Welcome to the fold.

Exactly how much more would the Tacoma have cost if the factory had installed hood struts. One of the best mods I did to my Tacoma.

    Welcome to the Maryland thread.

I've said the same. At least the past two generations of 4runners have had them...they could probably use the same strut on both and just find the best postion to put them in on the taco. Can't be hard for a major auto maker

I've got pretty short arms (I guess...) and had a hard time getting the hood up with my hands for the stick.

This mod allows me easier opening and closing. Its great!

Would anyone be interested in a meet up at some point soon and possibly a trip to go wheeling somewhere? I've still never met anyone in person and I really want to go but don't know anyone around here to go offroading with/wouldn't know where to go besides Rausch. I've never actually been unless you count dirt and gravel roads.

    I need friends. :(
