Does anyone know if there is a way to get the backup camera on the 09's to turn on in neutral and reverse, instead of just reverse. I ask this because i was towing a buddy of mines jet-skis and we heard and felt a clunk, i thought som how the hitch had jumped off the ball, or somehow broke. so i pulled over very carefully so i would not F up the back of my truck, and nothing was wrong. pulling over could have been avoided if the mod is possible. let me know what wome of you electrical guys/savvy people think

Is their a mod to adapt the 09 camera harness to work in a in-dash RCA input? I got a double din NAV unit/radio that has the backup camera RCA input and would like to use the camera that is already installed in my truck.

    Thanks,

    Hootbro

yes but you have to do some spliceing... im not sure exactaly where but under the dash there is a bundle of wires that you can tap into. sorry this dosn't help but if you look hard enough you can find out which ones you need to tap into. i just havent had the time to look into this.

I'm sure it can be done, you'd be the first to do it that i am aware of...an rca cable is just wire inside, all you would have to do is find the video signal in the factory harness and splice in the rca ends the run rca cables to your headunit.

It does come installed. Some people don't have proper mirrors though. But if your referring to the original post the guy wants to know if there is a mod to get it working in neutral. It would come in handy

My 09 did not come with the camera in the tailgate handle....The truck I test drove had it, but not the one I waited for...

wanna buy an '09 camera that will fit the handle?.... not my entire handle and camera, but just the camera that attaches into where the blank is.

Do not hold out waiting for him. I asked him by PM 4 months ago and told me he was going to dig it up for me. Never heard back since.
