I still need help to install a hitch. Will help to detail a ride for help with the hitch install.

Haha yea I forgot about that.

But honestly I'd be down for anywhere in the area. I guess the Baltimore area would be common ground? I'm in Montgomery county about an hour from DC, an hour from vomer, and a half hour from Frederick. So really anything works for me. We could do someone's house or go be hooligans and hang out at a park or something haha. I've never planned one of these so give me suggestions if you have any! (That goes for everyone, not just HomerTaco)

As for day, any weekend besides this upcoming one and thanksgiving weekend works for me before Christmas, or anytime after the 3rd of January. What's everyone else thinking? :D

I just did two hitch installs on tacomas...takes two people and about an hour to two hours. I ran into rusted bolts and nuts that stripped and had to get creative with new hardware so take your time. I found that it is easier to put the little steel spacers on the bumper/bumper bracket in place first, then losen the bumper bracket away from the frame and pound the hitch up in. Then line up the bolts and tighten it all in. Hardest part is lining it all up and getting it to go back through old nuts. Getting the bumper lined up isn't to hard just eyeball it

And be sure to tape the bumper up so it doesn't beat into the paint while lining up bolts and spacers!!!!!

Lol, don't make me go outside with a flash light and take pictures.

When i did mine, we took the bumper off, losened the bumper bracket from the frame and then slid the hitch up in. Then had to hold the bumper on(lined up) and individually put the bolts and spacers on....it sucked.

there are four bolts on the bumper that go through the bumper bracket into the nuts on the bumper braket...it is so much easier to losen two on one side, take one out, slide the spacer up in and them drive the bolt most of the way through. The repeat that for the bolt on the same side. Then mirror the opperation on the other side if the bumper. It is easier to leave the bumper on and so one bolt and spacer at a time. It is also easier to do when you don't have the hitch hanging there in your face....which is why when we installed one the second gime, we did the spacers on the bumper to bumper bracket first...the pounded the hitch up in to be sandwiched between the bumper bracket and frame. Also, air tools are pretty much required or it will take all night.

I got mine used and i didn't need a towing package at the time...

NADA says a hitch (hitch/towing package) adds $200 to the value of a tacoma and the hitch was on sale for $130....so i made $70 on the deal and i have a hitch i can use to drag shit or to have myself dragged out when i get stuck being a stupid teenager. I think it was a good idea. And it looks purrdy :3:eek:

I'd be up for a meet - Turkey day week is out for me - but at this time open to most other weekends. I'm coming from Fredneck - not that it matters much

That is a negative Rafterman (Full Metal Jacket quote). If i get to meeting you guys in person, i'll be spending all my monies on my taco...and i have to wait until i'm most of the way through school before i can start thowing money at my list of aspirations. I'm sure ST3VE is wonderful in person....he may walk with a lean though...as much as people talk about his camber and all. I wouldn't know anything about it, i've never met the man. I'm sure he is

Who would actually be up for a meet and/or mod day? I'm thinking like the Saturday before thanksgiving (sat. November 23) somewhere up around Baltimore/Westminster since that seems to be the common ground. I wouldn't be opposed to some off-roading too but unless someone has private land, i don't see that happening. I kinda want to get a rough head count before figuring out smaller details.

Would that weekend work for anyone? If not when would? Anyone have a specific spot in mind?

So far I think it's (correct me if I'm wrong):

    1. Me

    2. St3ve

    3. The Hunter (location depending)
