I did my grill, bumpers, and tried to do my emblems. Some of my emblems came out great, while others didn't stick at all. You can see in the tailgate pic that the "Y" in the TOYOTA didn't stick, and nothing on the other emblem stuck. Same for my SR5 badges on the sides. Any tips/pointers to get it to stick?

I'm surprised there isn't templates you can get to go over (around) the emblems etc to make it easier to spray.

Do you park next to or within 20 feet of bark mulch? I had hundreds of those dots on my truck one summer and thought it was fly or bee shit. Turns out it is artillery fungus, and it only lives in bark mulch. Those dots are it's "load" it shoots out up to 20 feet away.

Only way I found you can get them off is to wash the car first and that just starts to soak the dots. Then you have to go back and scrape them off with your fingernail. Use running water to keep lubing the paint. That is hard enough to scrape the load off, but not hard enough to scratch your paint.

After you finally get them off, get rid of your bark mulch. I haven't had a problem since.

Not a bad idea. If I had the time and the know-how I'd already be selling 'em. If they are reasonably priced I think you could make a killing.

I'm wondering if this is what went wrong with mine. We've had a bit of a cold snap come through here in the last week. Because I made sure all areas were clean (cleaned twice) and dry (sat overnight).

Same problem for you then? Haha! Any pointers? I'm kinda stumped at this point. Everything I can find says, "just clean it real good and make sure it's dry."

I had the same issue when I did mine. Took me 1 try on the door emblems and 5 tries for the tailgate emblems. On the final try I cleaned them with a degreaser then rubbing alcohol then I took a blow dryer and a q-tip and made sure they were dry around the edges and inside the letters that needed it.

No need with Plasti-Dip. just mask off the perimeter around the emblem, and once you have that thick coat sprayed just peel off the excess. works like magic.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
if you have a home depot it should be cheaper
