It's time once again to begin planning for the 3rd Annual Winter run to Sicily Island. Affectionately nicknamed the Freeze Your Ass Off Meet after last years trip. Had an awesome turnout last year and looking forward to an even better one this time around.

The dates have been set so mark your calendars for December 27-29. I know it can be a hectic time of year but hopefully you'll be able to get away!

For those of you that haven't been there it's $40 per weekend per driver and $10 per passenger. There is a bathhouse with a few power hookups and space for tents nearby.

Here is the number to call when you reach the park. That way Dennis can come unlock the gate and give you your trail tag. If you call about 30 minutes out he'll meet you there.

As far as food goes if you have a small grill bring it on up, can't remember if we had one where we camped or not. Also, there is a bathhouse at the park entrance for us to shower and all. Bring sandwich stuff and Water/Soda/Beer if you want some as well, the nearest store is about 15-20 minutes and it doesn't have the greatest selection.

I do too. It rained pretty hard the day before we went. Park got over 4" of rain. Plus, the only people that got really muddy were the ones that hit the mud hole. Everyone else stayed relatively clean

You can't take off the whole month of December?

Currently, on FB, there are 7 votes for both and 1 for Dec. 27-29 so it's looking like that's the best for everyone so far

Nope. I work with the Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office as a Road Deputy and my girlfriend is a dispatcher for the department. During December we tend to see an increase in the number of residential burglaries due to the holidays. Because of that administration made a rule a few years ago about noone taking off in order to keep the shifts at full strength during the holidays.

Awesome... Ill have to take a look on FB and also vote on there!! :p:p

I can't do both, but could probably make either date. Jan 3-5 works better for me.

    ah!

Thanks, a little slow on the uptake tonight...

In that case I could do both, but Jan 3-5 works better for me.

We did, thanks for putting up w/ the old timers...

I should be able to make December, just Jan would be more convenient (for me). Do you care if I post a link to this thread T4R.org? There might be a few that would try and make it....

Not at all. It's leaning heavily towards the December date. Unless January starts to get some votes ill probably just call it
