    Hi Fellas,

I was directed to this thread. I'm moving to CO from TX in January, trading in my diesel for another TACO. 2014 TRD. I hear y'all don't like TX transplants but what can I say, been trying to get to CO for a while. Anyway, can someone point me to some good trails to wheel a bit and take the family camping. Truck will be stock for a little while, also I'll be living on the west side of Denver. Probably Golden. Hope to meet some of you soon.

    Thanks!

You should have moved further south. You are still too close.

Not so worried about sitting by the pool. You cut me off from smoked meats and we will have a problem.

9/2/14 Edit: 4.3 Vortec installed, NP3500, custom NP233 transfer case, high pinion dana 44 SAS with ARB, 4.88 gears, bobbing the bed, 5" lift, boxed rear frame, custom s10 fuel tank mount, etc. 12/16/13 Edit: Currently tearing down a 2000 Blazer to transplant the 4.3 Vortec and 5spd manual transmission (NV3500 I believe) into the Taco. It'll pass CO emissions when done. Planning to post a thread once complete. E-Locker, budget CAI and exhaust, Warn Powerstation, Addicted Off Road bumper, ToyTec OME w/AAL lift, aftermarket stereo w/10 inch subwoofer (only cool when you realize how I fit it in a reg cab truck), dual lexus horns, roll bar, off road lights, CB radio, Powertrax Lock Right locker (front diff), ejecto seat, laser/phaser/ion ray gun, oil slick, heat seaking missles...
Usually the halo is lit by an LED which should have a resistor to cut the 12V to around 3V. Maybe your resistor is going bad? Or any chance you have condensation in the light? You might try to blow it out with compressed air, otherwise you'd probably have to split the housing to get to the internals which could get messy.

Sean are the halo rings LED or CCFL? I thought yours were CCFL. If they are typically bright during the day then they are CCFL. If they are then it could be a problem with the tube or gasses.

I have epoxy around the lights to prevent moisture, but then again water can almost always find a way in...no noticeable condensation.

    PM sent.

That's a good question...they are bright in the day time if I turn them on (halos)

But what if that's not the issue?

And if it were, I'm not sure my skills are advanced enough to replace a halo ring...but if you know how to diagnose it...I know where you live =)

I might be able to tell the difference between the two but not sure if i could take it further than that. Especially if Chris already looked at it.
I dont mind taking a look if your free tonight after 7pm. Swing on by.
If LED we could find the resistor and replace them after a quick run to RadioShack that is near me.

There is not fixing a CCFL tube. Would need to be a replacement of either the tube or the headlight. Check pricing on replacement tubes or if the company you bought from will send a new tube that we can replace.
