I'm looking to get 2.5-3" of lift

Looking at the adjustable 5100s on the front and 5100s on the rear.
With the OME leaf pack (says 2.5" of lift)

But I'm about to buy some plate bumpers so there's going to be some extra weight, so looking to get the 886 coils as well

But all the sites say not to use "lift coils" on the 5100s. People on here do this right? Don't see why not. But I know that down the road soon ill be buying some UCAs since I'm looking for almost 3"

I can get all the parts from toytec for around 1,000 plus shipping.

Casual offroading, so I'm just looking for a true 2.5"-3" lift with a good ride honestly. And when I do go "offroad" I'll be much better than stock

    Thanks guys

Get an OME lift with the right Coils for the weight and Dakar rear Leafs (which can support an additional leaf if you get crazy heavy).
Much better than the 5100's for weight (aka Damping)

I have 5100's with OME coils. Just keep them at 0. if you get the 886's and don't have any weight up front until you install your bumper, you'll be very stiff and probably more than 3". It would be a good idea to do it all at once. I have 885x's with 1/4" top plates and got exactly 3" with a DCLB. No weight up front. I just have an AAL for now (until funds allow for Dakars) so can't help you there. GL!

So you think 5100s and 885s with a plate bumper around 170lbs would be around 3"?

No you would need 886's. You don't want to lift that weight with the 5100's. Get the 886's and set the 5100's at 0. hopefully someone running a plate bumper will chime in but you may need 1/4" top plates with the 886's to achieve a full 3"

Got ha, I see what you said now.
I'm looking at the all pro leaf packs for the rear as well. Might have to buy some new UCAs

I would if you want a full 3" much easier to get your alignment into spec and adjusted to where you want.

Just throwing it out there again if you are going to add the cost of UCA's you could do a full OME kit with Dakar and get 2.5" of travel, without alignment problems (saving buying the UCA's and the hassles associated.
Since you are looking at spending that little extra do Icon/Radflow in the front with the proper springs and Dakar leaf pack and OME rear shocks... That will ride the best, and you can adjust the height of the front as needed to match.

Just a bunch of old crap
I'm running 886 coils with 5100's set at 0 and I have a front plate bumper, winch and skid plate. I used to run the 885's but the rake was too much. The 886's give me a full extra inch of lift and better control on the turns without my sway bar installed.

But I must tell you, I've ridden in a truck with plate bumper and winch with 886 and the OME shocks and it was a smoother ride.

So the OME products are a smoother ride. What about the rear? Just go all OME?

And how come with an OME kit I won't need UCAs?

It's only 2.5" if you get the top plates it will put you at 3" then you will need them. You just missed a sick deal on OME. $1100 I think for everything. :(

Can't go wrong with OME, great lift and great price.

definitely for the rear get OME over the 5100's.
Correct the OME lift doesn't require UCA's and it aligns.
Looks like you can still get that deal.. I would call them it's 2.5" not the 2" listed on their web site.
http://www.sierraexpeditions.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=4692 talk to Cliff and Will and they do an amazing install thank to Kyle in the back!

And for that price its the full leaf pack and not just an AAL correct?

Yup since the stock leafs sucks and wear out in 20-30k miles with an AAL. The Dakar pack is also a really nice compromise on flexing and comfort, plus lifetime warranty!! if used with OME Shocks

    Awesome, thanks!

How come the OME doesn't require UCAs like other lifts?

Sounds like the OME without top plates is only a 2.5" lift, therefore you don't need to replace the Upper Control Arms. If you add the top plate to bring it to 3" then you need to replace the Upper Control Arms.

So if you are only casual about this, then you might be better off with 2.5" lift vs. 3" lift. 3" is about the cutoff for the stock Upper Control Arms. I think I have heard about some not replacing the UCA's and being fine with a 3" lift. Just depends if they can squeak the alignment in or not. When you add the weight it will probably settle out more and make the alignment a little easier.

This is only my interpretation of what has been previously stated here and other threads. I have no lift. :(

Yea that makes sense, I was thinking I would just go ahead and buy some UCAs anyway, sounds like it makes it much nicer to align with them.

But which UCAs? I know some people may be bias about it, but Camburgs? Total Chaos? Light Racing? What about the set from DSM?

LR are the cheapest you'll find. They def serve their purpose. I guess you could buy better.

On the LR ones, I've read a few posts about problems with bushings?
Would it be worth it to add 200 more and buy some uniball arms? Other than alignment issues I don't see a big advantage in buying the most expensive CAs
