Pics of 3 inch lift with 265 70 17's

Hey guys/gals,



New to the forum, just bought a 2009 Double cab TRD sport and I'm looking to put on a 3 inch lift with BFG allterrain 265 70 R17's on the stock rims. I have used the search function to try and find some pics of this setup without much luck, as I see alot of guys run 285 70 17's and I want to see/know if the smaller sized tires will look ok on the truck with the 3 inch lift or if they will be too small and look funny. If any one with set up would post some pics I could see or links I would appreciate it a lot. I already have replaced the stock dunlops with the BFG's so I would like to stick with the tires I have and save some $. Also I would like to keep the front mudflaps on and avoid doing any trimming so I figure if the 265 70 17's I have look good then I will buy the lift and go from there. Thanks.

Thanks alot, that seems to look pretty good. Are you happy with the way it looks? Do the tires contact at all? What lift kit did you use? Anyone got any side view shots?

I'm happy with it....no rubbing problems and it drives great. I used the Toytec 3" with the AAL in the rear. I also added the Total Chaos upper control arms just to help me with alignment (my alignment wasn't off by much but it just seemed like a good idea while I was doing the lift). I'll try and get you a side shot today. BTW I love the BFG AT's, I've had them on 3 trucks now and have not had anything but good luck with them.

x2 on the BFG's. Same size on my stock rims. Same size rims and tires on my previous 4Runner (really filled up the wells on that -but no probs).

 

With a 3 inch lift is it that common to have alligment issues? I'm sure I will get flamed for it but I am going for the lift mostly for the looks so I will probably go for a spacer kit such as the Revtek kit as the truck really only gets driven in the snow up the mountains or minor logging roads to go dirt biking. $ is always a consideration with the family growing so cost effectiveness is important.

 

your alignment may be a little off with the 3". You can buy new upper control arms to fix that

 

Sorry havent took any pics lately, but I just got my lift installed last week. I did the OME setup and it looks and rides great, but I really want some bigger aggressive tires. I recommend not getting the spacer lift even if its for looks.

Why is it that the spacers are such a bad idea?

 

I decided to stick with the 65 series tire so my speedometer/odometer wouldn't be out by 5 percent. I think the truck looks aggressive enough the way it is. My front CV joints may wear out early with the lift, but I'm happy with all the compliments I get from both sexes.

So eventually, I will pay the price for new parts. The truck is still new at 10,000 Km, but for the next 10 - 15 years, it's a "work in progress".

Bump!! I wanna see more 265/70/17 with 3"lifts. My moms buying me some tires for my birthday and 265 seem to be more in her budget rather then 285s. What are the price differences anyway?

Looks like the roadmaster active suspension (helps keep the rear from sagging when under load)

Awesome truck! I was perusing your gallery over the last couple days as I was trying to decide on a lift. I decided on the same setup as you have (I believe). OME shocks on all sides with 885 springs and an AAL in the back. What AAL did you get? Did you do anything else (diff drop, sway bar relocation, etc)?

I was liking your pictures because I also plan to get 265/70/17 BFG A/T's. Are they noisy? Do they perform well off-road? Any idea what you paid for the tires?
