So on this list the only 2 tires that are 32's are the KM1's and the MTR's. A 245/75R16 is only a 30.5" tire...

Looking at the specs and prices are you opposed to staying with a 235/85R16 or something? I think that is your best bet. All the tires I have found in your size range are shorter than your current tires or you step up to a 17" wheel which costs more money.

    KM2:
    235/85R16 - 32x9.3 $222/tire
    KM1:
    255/75R17 - 32.1x10 $230/tire + 17" wheels

    I believe all 2nd gen OEM wheels are (16 or 17)" X 7.5" with 5.5" BS. I'm not 100% on that though.

Those are the specs listed by BFG.

Why so set on going to a wider tire of the same height?

Also what's wrong with dinged up wheels as long as they hold air and aren't hazardous? You'll just bang up the 17's more because you have less sidewall anyway.

I was just correcting what mooseboy was saying. Although I dont see the point in having a matching spare. Just need a tire of similar size that holds air.

Side note. If you pull the BS in that much and go to a 255 you may get pretty close to your tire rubbing on your UCA. A lot of 2nd gen guys get new wheels or run spacers because of that problem.

I dont remember if you have front chains or not but 2nd gen can't run chains on OEM wheels without spacers.

That sounds retarded and complicated. But im sure you'll change your mind a million times by the time you actually get something.

Just sayin 265's seem to be a perfect all around size

    oh boy oh boy.

Im not looking forward to mine..the sidewalls are too stiff IMO. Spoon man had pics of his at 8psi and the were barely flexed out..

    do they still sell KM1s??

Up north in AK they run that exact tire..they are very small

Your gonna want 33s once the bumper goes on..or at leas 265s..the super narrows will be very odd looking

    yes 2nd gens are 5.5,

    1st gens are 4.5

if you run 2nd gen wheels you can be fine with a skinny tire, but anything wider then i think a 265 and you'll need wheel spacers.

Plus i know your thinking of grabbing one on Mikes sets of 17s..but really..why pay more for rims and tires..when you can just keep the 16s and get a better tire? or just get a tire and save for something else..

They still sell KM1's in one size. 255/75R17.

As for BFG and Goodyear they only make 265's in 31's and down. No 32's or 33's.

Not mine. My BS tank has skids and sliders, which is more than my truck has.

    Pay attention Ben..haha

    I never said 33s

i said wider. 265s..all i said. You'll want a wider tire with the bumper.

Id get something much different then the stock 2nd gen rims if your gonna get new wheels. If your gonna go that far..get some wheels your really like..aka...the wheelers rims you wanted..or something else.

why way on form>funtion? Dude..im a Function>form guy..always have been..haha why my truck is so...odd..haha but wheels and rims i think are the only thing that really is form>function most the time..rims and tires make the biggest impact on how a car/truck looks then anything you can do to it. they just make a big impact.

Your also forgeting that i was running with no spare myself for most of The Epic..haha never felt like i was on pins and needles..

carrying two spares hahaha yea right..you will at first..but you'll stop. Just doesn't make a whole lot of sense for the trips we go on..and it'll take up tons of room. Not untill we are breaking into 3-8week trips or longer do i think more then one spare be needed.

There is no way in hell you need 3 spares..thats just retarded. Might as well just have a second set all together. One for trips/offroading. one for everything else...which isn't a bad option anyways if your thinking of just getting all new rims and tires anyways.

    That said..

might as well just stay 16s, get a new 16'' rim you like(id get some SCS F5s right now if i could and run 315/75r16s..). Then you have 4 extra rims and 4 tires..and you can have a dedicated set of wheels.

If your argument for not doing that is "i don't have a place for 4 rims and tires"...where the hell are you gonna store 3 spares?

Mikes truck did not look bad at all. But his weren't stock 2n gen rims..and 255s on a 17 are about a 10'' tire..and i was on 10.5s for a long time and he is on them now..so..no..didn't look bad. Bradys doesn't look bad either with 255s...i mean..i don't love it but i think thats mostly cause being a 2nd gen the truck is wider and they look missmatched to the truck, not the point though.. A 235 with your new bumper..aint gonna be pretty..haha

More info here. In summary? This kind of wheeling is NOTHIN' compared to out west. Creek bottoms are cool, sure. But WY/the west beats all.

Anyway, Ben why do you have to complicate it, just buy a normal sized tire or gods sake. I know u love the uniqueness if your pizza cutters but is it really worth all this bull shit?
