This is shaping up to be a pretty big meet. Should be interesting if everyone shows.

Hey Jason, is your buddy Wes coming? He's not on the list, but he posted something in the BS thread that sounded like he might be.

I'm kinda curious. Only two 1st Gens on the list. Did we really take that big of a hit because of the frame recall? I would have thought there would be a lot of 1st Gens at a wheeling meet since they're older and folks would be more comfortable beating on them than a newer truck.

i dont think that would be the reason. IMO, i think it is just everyones interest to get something newer when purchasing a truck.

later on i want to find a 1st gen 4wd so i can literally just have fun
with it and not worry about it. I think i would just strip up all the interior rug so if it flood, its no problem haha.

I suppose. Although I specifically targeted 1st Gens when I got mine since they are smaller and lighter (advantages when wheeling).

I might eventually take the carpet out of mine and paint the floor with bed liner. Not in a big rush to do it though.

    Hello,
I just received these in the mail today. Please read both sheets carefully. Especially the top of the 2nd page RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGES. I'm taking a big risk by signing this in the sense that I will be stuck with the bill if anyone damages anything there & I only know a couple of you & don't know most of you. Please remember this while you are there. I will call Tillis tomorrow because sites 16 & 17 were reserved after he mailed these to me.

Maybe it would be a better idea if 11 of us reserved our sites since it is 11 sites total. I hope no one takes it the wrong way but I think that makes more sense. Worse case scenario it's 2 people responsible for that site.

    What do you guys think?

If you want you can even PM me your names/addresses & I'll have Eddy mail them out to you.

I'll ask him tomorrow how that works.

I really don't think that anyone would do anything deliberately but accidents happen.

Please don't be offended. If it were asked of me I would do it in a heartbeat. Just understand that with the exception of a few of you I don't know most of you. And the ones that I do know I recently met through this forum. I'm willing to do the leg work for you if time is an issue. Plus, I already gave my name so Eddy probably will say they are all reserved.

If you are OK with this, PM me your name / address & to make it fair I'll respond to you with my name & address so everyone involved feels safe.

This way Eddy can mail 11 permits to 11 of you. I'm sure you can work it out with the person you are sharing your site with.

    Thank you.

i think everyone can understand where you are coming from. No one would
like to get stuck with a damage bill if something were to happen.

Although I really dont think everyone here would let one person get stuck with the full amount of a damage bill because of someone elses fault.

What do some of you other guys think??

Can't speak for anyone else, but if I damage something, I'll take responsibility for it.

I think Peter's suggestion is a good one, spreading the liability out if something does happen...like say, an innocent picnic table being inadvertently slaughtered. (sorry, couldn't resist :p)

That's fine to do whatever. Like dirtymike said we have never had a problem. The picnic table was just bent so we bent it back. It was good as new. anyway there is really nothing to damage as Tillis. The table are solid wood. Other than that it's trees and grass...

Ball joint spacers and lift blocks, am I doing it right?
I would call Eddie and let him know your concerns about signing for the whole group. Let him know your comfortable doing it for the reservation, but nothing beyond that. Assure him each individual camper will be happy to sign for their individual site upon arrival in January. If he has to have the forms in advance lets get the names and addresses for one responsible party per site and send them to him. I'm fine with signing for one if needed.

    UPDATE----------UPDATE--------UPDATE

    Hello Folks,

    I have received (1) PM with a name/address.

I responded to that person with my name/address/phone #.

I received a couple of other PM's stating how they feel about the situation. I fully understand & respect everyones concerns & decisions & I hope that you understand mine.

I'm new to camping/off-roading but not to situations where you have to give your name & claim responsibilty for what may happen. I planned an event once with a FAMILY member & I ended up paying almost $900 because that person knew that I was the responsible party (on paper). That person promised to pay me & never did. I will not take that risk again.

    UPDATE #2 ------ UPDATE #2 ------ UPDATE #2------

As I was writing this I got a call from Eddy Duval from Tillis Hills (352-344-4238). I explained the situation to him. He told me to have everyone call (11 people/11 sites, 29-37 & 16-17) & give him your name/address yourself. Just mention that you are calling about the sites reserved for Tacoma World. He will then send you the permit for that particular site.

For me, I will share one site with Nicko so thats 2 trucks right there.

It can't get any more fair than this. I hope everyone understands.

I did the best that I could to organize the sites.

    Thanks,
    Petros
