I'd get a v8 tacoma in a heart beat , I like the tundra and honestly mpg is comparable To my dbl ab lg bed . But it's just such a tank , and it wouldn't fit in my garage .

I d love to put a nice exhaust on my taco but I think our motor sounds like crap with one ( sorry just being honest ) , a nice exhaust on a v8 tundra is breath taking lol

    Couldnt agree more.

I had a 2004 V8 and it was unbelievable to drive. Smooth, quiet and so powerful.

I recently took my 2011 Tacoma on a trip I took my V8 on, and the Taco was so bad I find myself looking for another V8, but this time 2006+.

If it were beefed up enough in all the required areas to yield a significant increase in towing I would consider it. IMO MPG difference would be negligible and I prefer the physical size of the Tacoma over the Tundra.

If is got the same gas mileage as the V6, then for sure. I chose a Tacoma double cab over a Tundra double cab for the maneuverability in traffic, parking lots and especially off road! The current V6 does a lot of things very well, including towing my Jayco X18D.

In MHO I would much rather see a turbo diesel option available on the taco. I think if Toyota offered a v8 in the taco it would hurt tundra sales. Turbo diesel though, may not faster than the 1gr fe but more torque could help for off road and towing. I'm very happy with my 4.0! Hope to be boosted some day!!! For me no want for V8.

I'd rather have the bigger 5.7L V8 instead of the 4.7L.

Read through most of this thread in the last ~2hrs...

I currently own an Audi S4 (V8, AWD, 6spd man), so I know what it's like to have the option available atleast.

I testdrove A4's (before buying my S4) which only come with a 4cyl-turbo or V6, & both were very anemic compared to the 4.2 V8.

I voted for the V8 but IMHO would love to see a TT-V6 Tacoma, similar to the Ford 3.5L Eco-boost.

A couple friends have them & say the power is addicting, while getting really decent MPG.

Unbelievable (V8-like) power & decent (4-cyl) mileage, who could complain...?

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
^ if we are going TT i think inline 6.

Better TQ curve, and they sound wonderful..unlike v6

I have the 4, I love the 4, but part of the reason I got the 4 is that my experiences with six cylinder cars has been pretty dismal. I would have been all over an 8-cylinder Tacoma.

I actually looked into trading up for a 2013 tundra but I couldn't allow myself to take the $$ loss .

Friend of mine is getting the same mileage with his double cab 5.7 tundra .
And it's such a nice truck inside and out .

A v8 tacoma would be perfect though since it's honestly the perfect size trck for my needs .

maybe the reason toyota hasnt put a V8 in the taco because they learned from chevy what a big flop it would be? maybe if they built a small enough V8 it wouldnt be soo bad because the main problem with a V8 in the colorado was weight and more sluggish because of said weight

Chevy never had a v8 in the colorado , and the 5.3 silverado is awesome and is a good selling full size truck .

I'm not sure what your getting at ?

Offer the supercharger as an engine option.
Offer a staight axle option with locker for the front.
It would be a piece of cake for Toyota to go the parts bin and make some optional upgrades. Be able to finance it when bying new, would be cool.
