On my last truck I went through every high end blade out there. I don't remember the models, but I do the brands, and I would usually buy the most expensive. Wasn't impressed with Rain X for the money. Always liked Bosch products, but the best I can remember were the Michelins. Right now my truck is 2 weeks old but I am impressed with the stock blades- or maybe how well the truck is detailed and how clean and treated the windshield is. Going to stop and rain x and the orange washer fluid tomorrow and vacuum out the stock fluid because that is the best.

I just use the OEM ones. Change them when needed. None of this change them every 6 months.

Just swapped in a cheap-o set I bought from Rock Auto. They had a sale and marked down certain winter blades to $1-2/ea, couldn't refuse. So far, they're doing well. I think they were the AC Delco ones.

indeed, but seriously they really are the best out there. I was a non believer until Wil installed a set on the Tacoma without me knowing when it was pouring rain one day. First thing I did to my Tahoe and my 4Runner when I bought them

Bosch Icons on the car have worked well. Bought Ancos for the Tacoma and they sucked, squalked all the time. Replaced the Ancos with Goodyear which were on sale at Costco for $4.99 each and they have been awesome so far.

    Hey Cliff,
Since we are in the worst wiper place in the U.S. of A, Freeking cooking them for 9 months then rainstorms hit and you need the dang things and most have hardened up and fail, The sils take the dry heat well?
I have been just stocking up on the rubber factory refills.

i bought a set of Bosch Icons to run on my work truck ( 2006 Kenworth ) . They lasted far longer than anything else I've run and always wiped well. I put 2 sets on in the 6 years I had the truck, and they never came apart or tore. Truck had 129,000 miles on it when I turned it in.

Has anyone ever put just de-icer(like rain-x) on their wipers so the less chance of the rubber freezing to the window overnight? I know some people put their wipers up away from their windows so they don't freeze. I am just thinking of other options then doing that.

    I am just curious.

Nope, just one set. I wasn't sure how well they'd work out but for $3, I was up for finding out. Regular price is only like $3-5/ea on their website.

How long do those usually last and do you know how they hold up in snow/ice?

I always laugh at the people who leave their wiper blades up in the air. I keep mine against the windshield and let the defroster do it's job or use the ice scraper to break it free. Never had a problem :notsure:
