200dB will kill you.


However..unless you had a very very expensive dB meter I can promise it was wrong a bit.

A jet engine puts out 130dB. Not an f1 car.


Also that said..there a LOTS of different dB...in fact just saying 60dB or whatever doesn't mean anything.

You need more labels like:

80 dBV
80dbvu
80dB RMS


Then there weighting..

80dBV A weight

80dBV C weight..


And more.

dB like cody pointed out is logarithmic.

I bet an F1 car is closer to 115-120

3 dB increase is two times the volume but our ear on register about as small as 6db which it 4 times as loud as it was before...

So..5db less then a jet engine is still loud as fuck. But 130 is super loud.

Hearing damage is the most over looked thing we hav IMO. People don't care..drives me nuts.

Live concerts are horrible. Most are around 100-110 dB a weight

 

There are some very wrong things on there haha

Paint threshold is 120..not 140

130 is not "pretty loud" that's stupid loud ear damage in under a minute loud.

I do not think that is a credible source. Or is very outdated.
