Help! I purchased a set of 18" Toyota 4Runner Rims, 6X5.5" bolt pattern and factory offset of 25mm. I also purchased a set of Michelin 265/60R/18 tires for the rims. According to the tire size calculator, this combo should fit on my 04 Tacoma PreRunner with the diameter difference being 0.3%. I had the rims and tires mounted on my truck but found out that the tire was close to the strut and was making contact while turning. So, I had to remove the rims and tires and go back to my original stock setup of 16" rims. Can anyone help me on what to do without lifting my truck and installing the 18" rims? Any tire size recommended that will keep the overall diameter close to the stock height of 30.60?" Do I need a spacer for the wheels?

    Additional questions:

Anyone know if I can go to a smaller size tire that is within the allowable 3% diameter difference and won't encounter problems with the tire rubbing the struts? According to the TSC, a 255/60R18 is 10mm narrower, (.40 inch) and 14.23mm (.56 inch) shorter than my stock 265/70R16. All replies would be beneficial. Thanks again!

They are easy to install. Take off the wheel, install the spacer, put wheel back on. Done.

I was about to but a set of these and tried one of them on. They cleared everything but only left a 16th of an inch clearance for the uca. This was with the stock size 4runner tires.

A spacer would of helped. But I think they would of looked awkward with the rims having no dish to them.

No it's just that guy has been trying to sell those things for 2 years atleast. Also that he kept lowering and rasing the price. One time he said make an offer, so my friend offered him $500 just for rims no tires, and he said no. I bought mine brand new from Toyota for $715.

    its a 18x7.5 25mm offset vs our 30mm offset 16x7's

Go with the 275/65/18 BFG AT tires. I have no lift and do not have any rubbing issues.
