It's a 5 panel door which replicates an old door style , yes , all the doors in the house are this style except a couple leaded glass doors

Last night I was adding insulation to the attic since what we have is old and r10 at best. So I bought 30 rolls of r30 and got about 10 rolled out before this happened...

Slipped and stepped through the ceiling...

Very nice. I better not let the wife see this.

Was this a kit, and if so, mind sharing a link, or was it all cut by you from sheets?

My local lumber supplier is a rep / reseller for Hertco cabinets , they will build anything you want pretty much , these are mostly stock boxes from them based on a plan from the interior designer that is working with my client

I have used their cabinets for quite a few kitchens , bathrooms and other areas and I am very happy with the quality of their product

I wasn't sure where else to put this but when I saw it I knew I had to share...

My parents recently bought a newer home to help enjoy their retirement and they are slowly in the process of making it their own. In the back corner of the basement there is a little work area that the previous owner seemed to put together with what he had left over. It is also home to one of the most unique door frames I think I have ever seen...

My dad said when he first saw it he assumed it was just a stack of lumber scraps in a very strange place. After they closed and moved in he had some more pressing issues to take care of so he never gave it much thought. He was rigging something up one day and he needed some scrap 2x4s, and he went to grab one from the basement. This was when he learned they were in fact all attached and serving (poorly) as a functional frame for the sliding door.

    Oh yeah, it's custom...

As much as he respects creative thinking, he plans on removing this in the near future and replacing it with something a tad more traditional.

That's a pocket door that looks like the stud and cripple have been removed from on the right hand side , you can see the 1 1/2" step in the plate

We decided it wasn't removed. We found no evidence that it ever existed.

Perhaps one of the few nailed to the top was intended for the side.

I just noticed those for the first time. If he did have a stud up it was never attached at the floor in any way we could find. My dad told me if he comes up for a visit and sees anything like this in my bathroom that I'm working on that we are going to have to sit down and have a talk.
