Never said I hated him, just don't care for the 48 team. I'll admit they are the class of the field most weekends. They remind me more of ballerinas than racers. I think chads been caught cheating a time or two too so that always makes you wonder whats up.

Hell, damn near every team has been caught violating the rules at some point. Nobody is above reproach. He is a damn good driver, and has a great crew and support team.

Hell I hate Kyle with a passion, but I still admit he is a skilled driver.....of course note that I said skilled, not good.

Can't say I don't 100% disagree here. I went to the Charlotte All-Star Race this year and had a pit pass. His pit crew surely wasn't classy. One guy was nice enough to give the hat off his head to a fan. So, I decided to press my luck and I went and asked another one. He said, if you run a lap around the track naked, them maybe I will. The "other" crew member was still standing there and he was nice enough to say he would give me his but he had already gave it away.

I really wanted to cuss the hell out of that dude cause he acted all "cool" with his friend.

Curious as to that definition of not good also. I'm not a Kyle Busch fan either, but the kid is in his upper 20s, is all time nationwide series win leader, either 1st or 2nd all time in camping world series, and has like 26 or 27 sprint cup wins, which puts him in top 25 all time. That's pretty good to me.

Skilled, as in his driving skill is very impressive. The man can drive, and I won't deny that.

Not good as in I have posted previously in this thread about a personal experience I saw with my own two eyes that has forever put Kyle in my least favorite drivers.

I am saying as a person, AND a driver, he is not good. Part of being a driver is the character of the driver, and how he acts in public.

Ah, I see. I will agree with you there. Although this year he hasn't been as bad, he's still a punk. He will grow up though.

Pretty sure the intimidators character has never been a question, he was a stand up guy, his issue with the fans was he did whatever it took to win regardless of whose car was in his way and won a lot that way, so you loved or hated him for that reason, not his character. So not quite sure how you are drawing the comparisons.

    This V

He did a lot of stuf he didn't want people to know about. He would actually tell the people in the media that found out about something he did not to tell anyone about it because it would change his "Intimidator" status. He was a really good guy, from everything I remember and what I've read since he died. (he was my driver...so I did a lot of reading shortly after his death.)

The thing about Dale Sr was that he knew what stayed ON the track, and what stayed OFF the track. He always said that while in the car and on the track, the object was to win. But once off the track you didn't see him punch someone, or whine and cry. If he made a mistake, then he admitted that he made a mistake. He pushed the envelope as far as he could.

"I didn't mean to wreck him, just wanted to rattle his cage a little". Always loved that line.

The guy stopped on the infield and got out of his car to check on Rusty after he wrecked him one time. Who else would do that?

Ya I remember that Saturday nite Bristol race where he took Labonte's win away. I am not questioning Dale being a good guy but when you all claim kyle is a bad person behind the wheel you can't say dale was always squeaky clean. I think maybe in Dale's day bumping and rubbing were more accepted.

I admit I get a little irked when Kyle pushes one of my more fav drivers out of the way, but like you said, back in Dale Sr's day, that was the norm. Today it is not acceptable by Nascar standards, ESPECIALLY the way Kyle did it in the truck race last year, ruining Ron Hornaday's truck championship hopes. THAT was not only stupid of Kyle, and very unsportsman-like, but it could have killed Hornaday hitting the corner wall like that. ESPECIALLY after the caution flag was already waved. Kyle did it intentionally. After that, he should have been banned from trucks, but he is too popular.
