    Fluid Film is stinky!

Got my truck sprayed at Truck Trends in Belmont, NH this morning. They charge $225 if it's your first time, and $195 for annual respray of the undercarriage. With winter wiper blades, new tires and undercoating, I'm about as ready as I'm going to be for winter.

I hope the smell diminishes quickly...

That's not a bad price. I paid $100 for the DIY kit and I think it'll last 2 seasons and I'll have to buy a gallon every other season thereafter.

Oh crap - got me a 2012 4-banger. The sucky part is that I am sure there are vehicles outside their "target" range for the recalls that will have the crap parts but will never get updated. I would find it hard to believe that Toyota could narrow down their range to 4,000 vehicle by VIN number and be assured at the models close to those numbers are OK.

You're supposed to re-coat every year before winter. It's just an oil based product that never dries but, over time, will wear off or get washed off. You're not supposed to do those undercarraige washes with this stuff.

Fluid Film is lanolin-based - no petroleum content, which is part of the attraction for me. It does need to be refreshed every year.

Crazy NH story of the day:

My last two tours in Iraq, I had a guy working for me that grew up in the mountains of northern Arizona. There were about 100 kids in his high school class - a small town. I told him that I was planning to visit my family in New Hampshire when we got home, and he responded without hesitation, "Oh, the neck of the cow?" You know there has go be a good story from something this ridiculous, so I pressed him for an explanation. He told me to think of the map of the continental USA as a cow, and that NH would be in the neck. I say, "WHAT???" He says, "Well, Florida is the front legs, and Maine is the head - and, well, there are no back legs, but it does look like a cow!"

So, after years of my sister and I referring to NH as Cow Hampshire, we now call it, "The Neck." AND, I'm sure that my kids don't need to go to school in northern Arizona...

How many teeth do you have? You may remove your shoes if you don't have enough fingers to count them all.

So that would mean Texas is the balls and Washington is the asshole and Hawaii is discarded cow pie? What would that make Alaska? :notsure:
