OP - the post was a fine example of your craftsmanship. Really sorry to hear about the truck and as other have stated, glad to see you are OK.

Seriously^… How in any way is that funny. That sucks OP I'm sorry to hear that.

I'm guessing it won't be anytime soon. It's incredibly hard to get that attached to a project, make such great progress, and then have it all go to shit. Even if OP is able to salvage the parts, he will never be able to get back the hours he labored on that beautiful install.

Hey thanks everyone for the concern. I was shocked how many people posted asking if I was okay and everything. Yeah what sucks the most is how much time and energy I put into the truck that I can't get back and insurance can't just write a check for. That bed pocket has a crack in it now on the side. Not bad but it bothers me. The truck isn't terrible but its enough that insurance may total it idk. I came over a hill on a chip and seal road sprinkled with gravel so slick anyway and my front tires have no tread. I just slid straight off into a fence and then tree. I was only going about 40 or so, so I wasn't hauling ass or being stupid. Just such a sudden sharp corner with no traction. Airbag went off. I'm fine nothing injured just a sore wrist and back. Battery flipped over and pulled my 0 guage out so idk what all audio works still. Pictures coming when I can. Sorry everyone. The first thought when I was sliding is god no I've put so much time into this. Then bam. Feel like I let everyone down

Best buy carries crap for audio.

I had the option for a stereo or super charger.
I went stereo. I'm an audiophile.

Just read this thread. Glad you're OK . Feel bad about all you're hard work damaged. Hopefully they won't "total" it, and do what we pay them for, fix it. It is a Toyota. Its high retail value will play a factor in their decision.

I dont think you let anyone down here from the sounds of things. Good to hear your doing ok, tacomas do a pretty good job at keeping its occupants safe in accidents. Sorry about your truck man, you did a great job with it.

If you have pictures of the accident post them up if you can.

Well I'm glad you're ok. It sucks to hear you lost your truck from bald front tires after all that nice work.

You're super talented and have great hands for finishwork.

here are some pics of the wreck. not terrible but the frame may be bent a little. it wobbles now i cant tell if its dog tracking or not. the windshield is cracked from the airbag going off i believe. the brake pedal "clanks" when i release it and there is no slack in the steering wheel linkage like there usually is going over gravel and bumps. haven't tested any audio yet.

as far as the comment someone said about best buy not carrying good car audio, we carry a good entry level to mid-grade selection because it's a popular choice for people not wanting to spend a ton of money. We can order in anything high end through a brand we carry. Just don't stock it in the stores. Everything in my truck I ordered from the manufactures direct aside from the tablet and head unit, and some of the speakers. I know its not the best out there, but I made the best of what I have available to me.

Man. Those stakes caused way more damage than I would have thought.
