Nice good ol rear ifs

 

So I got a call from my neighbor this afternoon. Apparently around lunch time he got brave and learned a valuable lesson about owning a 2wd.

This is what I came upon when I got there.



He had been trying to dig it out for 4 hours!!!

Winched him as far as I could then turned my truck around and yanked him out all the way back to solid ground




And I think I winched him to the point of pissing off my battery. My charging system was going crazy trying to keep up. I definitely didn't rest my winch as often as I should have.

 

Good on you for coming to his rescue.

Yes I am. Very happy with her so far. I just need to be careful I don't over heat her when I'm pulling.

And I felt bad I couldn't get to him sooner. Not sure why he didn't go down the street and ask for help. He wasn't far from an area that I'm sure he could have found a truck.

No worries. Happens to the best of us. I got a chuckle out of it.

(Remember, I was the dumas in the Richloam vid that was locking the hubs...after I got stuck in the nasty stuff.)

So, yesterday, I got tired of looking at all the stains in my paint from the last wheeling trip and decided to see if I could get them off. Washing didn't do anything, but I noticed that they would rub off with a finger when dry...except it took some effort. I tried a scrub brush and a terry-covered applicator pad, like you would apply wax with, and it was the same story: they worked but too way too much effort.

Then I stumbled onto the solution. We had a spray bottle of this Soft Scrub Total Bath and Bowl stuff under the sink. I tested that out, spraying it on and scrubbing it off with the dampened applicator pad. It worked fantastic. I waited overnight to see if it was going to do anything funky to the paint, but it was fine, so I did the whole truck today. Man, it looks good now. Nearly as good as it did when i got it back from the paint shop. The mud stains are gone. Only thing it didn't work too well on is a couple spots where tree sap dripped on it. Those are pretty much permanent I guess, unless I opted to sand them off or paint over them at some point.

Not sure how well the stuff would work on a wrap, but it's definitely the way to go to get flat finish paint clean. Might work for mud stains on clear coat as well, but I'd test it in an inconspicuous area first.

 

Nail polish remover will get rid of tree sapp. It with pines at least
