    Do you have a Chilton's manual for the Camry? I always buy one for every vehicle we buy. Might help? :notsure: IIRC about $20 or so; Autozone down there probably; I've bought them at NAPA and O'Reilys here.

    FWIW I've found them to be very helpful and take the guesswork out of figuring what has to be removed to get to something. Again, :sorry: you're having a hard time with the starter.

    I had one for my old pickup, don't know why I never got one for the camry...

    I thought the video would help (did when i r2'd the valve cover gasket) but the '02 is a little different than the '99, for the starter. A couple of the reviews have the starter on the passenger side - must be a 6 cyl? cause mine if up front on the driver side :notsure:

    There is a little box with three vacuum lines (might be the cruise control), attached to a bracket that attaches to the battery tray, and it's the vacuum lines that go straight over the starter. I don't have that housing that the '02 has.... I'm afraid of disconnecting something and not putting it back on, or not being able to get it back on :eek:
