Absolutely zero difference.

I did the wiper swap and cruise control installation in 15 minutes in the parking lot at work with nothing more than a multi-tool and $220 worth of parts.

 

I didn't check motors, but I am one who did the change to the intermittent. Been over a year and zero issues.

I'll echo what someone else said, the dealers don't seem to know this for some reason..

Thanks for the response and the reassurance that this will work on 2013 models. May I ask if you bought the unit through a dealership and how much you had to pay? I have gotten two quotes from local dealers, each of which are around $180. I have read in the forum where others have gotten better deals but have not come up with a good source yet.

I should have read the rest of your posting. You gave a link to an earlier post that indicates your hassles with the dealer and the $150 charge for the part. I'll check around for getting a similar price.

$111.... reset search parameters for the 2013, but the only difference from '05 to '13 is the direction you turn the knob to adjust the delay, and whether it has words or symbols.

$75 for the stalk....

You'll also need the clutch switch if you have a manual, the new wire harness, and a new cover for the steering wheel... total will be about $100.

 

Help!!! I did this on my 2009 with no troubles, but can't seem to get it to work on my 2013...any one have a fix??? Seat belt chime driving me nuts while off roaming..

 

Doesn't work on the new ones... Only the dealer can do it.

 

I have a 2013 Tacoma LTD and was able to disable both the driver and passenger side seat warning using THIS. It will be the best $35 you ever spent, especially if you own other Toyotas. One thing to note is that you have to have a PC/Laptop running Windows XP to run the program.

I remember when it was as easy as disconnecting a wire from the seat belt.

No worries, but remember, you need a pc with Windows XP to run the program,

Mick, the kit comes with a small CD with the TIS (Toyota Information System) software and VIM (Vehicle Interface module). Everything you need minus the PC. Anyone wanting to do this, should check out thread on Tundra Solutions. There is a TON of info and advice on there for using the program. Unfortunately, there is not NEARLY as many functions on out Tacos as there is on the Tundra, but the chime thing is there (I have done it). You can also view live data, read and erase codes, etc.

The cable comes with a cracked version of Techstream.

DO NOT under any circumstances attempt to use the software to log into Toyota's TIS, or to reflash your ECU.
The connection on these cables is a bit shaky and they frequently drop the connection. If it were to drop during a reflash, you would need a tow to the dealer and have to explain what you did (no warranty, probably $500).
Attempting to connect to TIS may (I don't know for certain) disable the software. It is a cracked version of Techstream and is not a legal copy.

 

Hey guys so I looked at Jivewalker's method and basically did the same thing. works like a charm after you have all the needed tools.
I used primary wire 16guage that I bought at Autozone, can be bought at any auto shop. I also bought a pack of the Quick Disconnects from Radio Shack fro $2.50, which worked perfect when fitting unto the male prong. I used black wiring because I didn't want it to be so noticeable when I open to look at all wires, so its hard to see in photo. As described in all above posts you just put the other end in that green wire slot. hope these photos help others who needed a few more photos anyways looks great and now I can use my fogs when I want to.. FREEDOMM!! lol

 

Hey yarro, thanks for the great pictures! But how did you plug the wire into the green wire slot? like what connector did you use or do you just shove the wire down in there? i couldnt tell very well from the picture

 

Hey TACOlin i used the same disconnects i did for the other side going to the relay. (radio shack). Except on this side, i used the male prong.i had to trim it from both sides since it was a little big. I decided to use the dissconnects rather than just shoving the wire down there because i think it fits tight and its a cleaner mod. But i think as long as you can make it stay there your good, the goal is to not have to worry about going back under the hood and put it back in place)

 

I did this mod and it is amazing. I have spider halo led lights with separate bulbs for bright and dim.
