Yea.. I'm not talking about that kind of lsd...

I tried searching for awhile, but got no where fast.

For those who know, any "better" limited slip than the stock that comes with a trd sport '07.
I would love a diff that could lock when needed but be regular limited slip the other 95% of the time, but I know that is just a dream.

For the little kiddies that will tell me too just get a 4x4, tell me something I don't know...

I find the Auto electronic LSD bullshit to work pretty good sometimes. When the rear end is articulated on an uneven, loose surface, the Auto LSD will do what it takes to get the traction. In that case, it worked better than the power lock LS stuffed in the Dana 44s that sit under my Willy's.

First time I took the Elec. LSD in the sand, I was NOT amused....

OP: There used to be a carrier out there that performed like a locker off-road, but had the manners of a LS on the street. This was from about 10 years back so the name escapes me.

I've been looking for the same thing. I'm trying to find a Torsen style LSD, like the Detroit Locker Truetrac, but I can't find anything so far.

Let me know what you guys find. I am looking for a mechanical LSD for my 12. I can't use the electronic LSD because the ABS made my truck unstoppable in the snow. Can't afford it right now but maybe by next fall it might be possible.

I think I've read about a new one made by Auburn called the E-cted or something like that. It's supposed to be a limited slip all the time and then and then fully locked at the push of a button. Sadly I doubt they make it for our trucks but might be worth a look. I have the e-locker, but I wish there was a better lsd for the street and then able to lock up off road. So far I haven't been very happy with the auto brake lsd...

The Tru Track is a good replacement for the OEM LS rear.

I gotta look into this. Is it even worth replacing even though the original lsd is technically still good???

IIRC, TRD has a replacement that has a better lock up than the OEM one. You might want to look into it. If you are wanting to get locker performance out of the LSD, you wont. You can use the parking brake to help manipulate power divide between the sides, but that's about it.

Do you know of a TRD LSD which fits the second gens? Another member gave me this link, http://yhst-99618682857744.stores.yahoo.net/trdkazamalsd.html, but it only fits the 1st gens. Do you know if there's a Detroit Truetrac for the 2nd gens? Their sales brochure doesn't indicate that they do.

I might have to check that out. The one I remember from a while back was all automatic and all mechanical. It was also very expensive. I remember them making one for a 3rd member rear end... Might have been a ford 9in though...

Yeah, if you actually want wheel spin, like to get flotation in sand. The Elec. LSD/TRAC is no bueno.

Like Chris said. But to make it easier to find, it is a "Detroit True-Trac".
