Last weekend of bow season here before the guns start blazing.
This was a 7:30 AM, 25 yard shot after working him in with the grunt call.
One buck per year limit here in Indiana.

This was the first day of my 2 week vacation. Lol. So, I've got 2 more weeks to get in the woods...but I'll be in the water some then, too. Can't get too far away from that!

I need to bring you some big trout to see if you can make me some trout jerkey :D

Or some deer for you to make me some of that delicious deer jerkey.

I've seen a couple different good bucks but I'm after a nice 120+~ 8 point. Seen plenty of deer even Had a shot on a good one this mornin at 50 yards let him walk. Kicked myself afterwards. Only thing I've killed this year is a doe. Tough hunting waiting on a particular buck

The new 30-06 is now scoped and sighted in. Paid for 2 days shipping and got it overnight. Sighted it in today. The Nikon Prostaff 5 is SO clear. I'm impressed.

    · Aftermarket fog lights · TracRac G2 with extra tie down points · Bilstein 5100’s on the front at 1.75” · Scangauge · Rubber bed mat · Relentless tailgate reinforcement · Window rain deflectors · Back seat dog bench. I got tired of him drooling on the dash, nose printing on the windows and getting in the way of the side mirror. He farts a lot too but the bench won’t help with that. · 265/75-R16 Goodyear DuraTrac’s on Pro Comp 7089 wheels. A couple of the wheels took a lot of weights but they’re smooth all the way to >85 mph and then a little vibration starts. · I removed the back seat headrests. · I disconnected the key chime. · I added a wiper switch with the intermittent option. · A subtle Steal Your Face stencil · Removed badges
Nice deer Zach. What did he weigh?

I live in the Adirondacks of NY. A lot of the area only holds 0-5 deer per square mile. You usually have to hunt real hard to get one. They can get pretty big up here. Often drives are the only way to see any. What few acorns there were fell early and are now rotted. There are some Beech nuts but not a lot. Behind my camp is about 7000 acres of unposted private and public land. I let the local hunting club and a few others through to access it. I said hello to one guy about sunrise today. He hunts a lot and has spent around 8 full days in the woods this year. He’s seen 3 does and 1 buck. He shot that buck about 10 minutes after I saw him today. 110-120 lbs. He was out of the woods by 8 with a short down hill drag.
I’m heading to the Catskills next weekend for opening day where there’s anywhere from 15-30+ per square mile.

I'm not sure what he weighed, but he was a hoss. Deer in GA are stupid lol. Once the rut hits, you can pretty much kill them with a slingshot lol

This. The 6 I killed the other day was walking around in a thicket behind me. I was gonna get down at 10, and I heard somethin walking about 5 til 10. Right at 10, I hit the grunt call and he came flying. 100 mph right at me. Got into the open and he just slowed down and started looking around. Beautifully broadside.

At least she knew how to handle the gun, I guess :notsure:. Sucks that he supposedly fell asaleep and left a gun in reach of a 5 year old. But, if they've been taught the right way to use a gun, they're less likely to do something awful, even at that young an age.

(In before everyone freaks out about it)

I wasn't sure if it was legit or not, but looking at the rest of the site I'm thinking it is.

Dang that sucks that it's fake. That's an awesome story. This is a good example of what happens when children are taught properly how to act around and use firearms...they use them correctly. My 7 yr old nephew has been around guns his entire life and knows not to mess with them unless he has permission, but when he does have permission, he knows how to load and fire his .22 Rascal and his .410 shotgun. We took him shooting yesterday and he was hitting a 2'' target at 25 yards with his .22

Well me and dad got out this morning and hunted for a bit. it started spitting snow about 7:30 and wind picked up a lot more than it already was. so we called it a day. probably 15 to 20mph winds, so they not going to move around really.
