Same. I'd be all over a D800 before even considering that thing. Look up the specs. They don't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Come next year, with Sony just putting out the first FF Mirrorless with AF, and with more successors in the plans, I think more and more companies are going to be answering to the possibility of smaller/lighter, (possibly cheaper if done right) cameras that have just a little worse (or maybe someday soon even better) quality than their DSLR counterparts. You have to realize, with the amount of people just picking up photography like it's a new pair of shoes these day, the consumer/enthusiast is going to get what he wants before the die hard pro does in a lot of cases. I think mirrorless advancements will be the wave of 2014/2015.

Those first four and the horse intrigue me a lot. Awesome photos, Marc! What's the quick rundown of your edit process on the first few? The don't look HDR but have that felty feel, like I can touch each element right from the picture. Superb.

Awesome awesome shots Marc!!! Your in the zone dude!!! It's always a special moment when you pull a pic up in LR and look at it and it turned out like those.

So I'm guessing your going to buy the new lens now huh? lol

BTW everytime you upload pics on here you make me want to move out there. I'd love to have stuff like this to shoot everyday!!!

Awesome shots! I love the Winds. I used to travel to Lander once a month and would stay the weekend usually. Did a little exploring. It's been several years since I've been. Always liked the Sinks. Really great composition.

Thanks guys, definitely surprised myself. The first four are HDR. I tried to edit them as realistic as possible. We were at Mormon Row early in the morning and the light was phenominal and same with the light on the Breccia cliffs. For the HDR's it's just a +2,0,-2 EV(Except for the first shot, that one is 9 shots)done in Photomatix and then pulled thru LR for finishing touches. Really learned how important time of day and light conditions are this time out!

Murph, although the 70-200 f4 is i'm renting is awesome I wont be picking one up. The only shots in that post taken with the 70-200 are #4, all the moose, and that's it. For me I've got my midranges covered. I'll have a 400 5.6 prime (would have killed for one on that moose), and a wide before a good 70-200. Of course i'd love it though, so clean and quick compared to the kit lens :p

And thanks Bob, it is an awesome area. You should make it out like you used to and say hello! Sinks is cool, we all stopped there on the "Epic WY MT CO" TW Meet

Perfect implementation of HDR. I thought it looked like it, but then had to second guess and say maybe not. Which is exactly what should happen. Very impressive.

haha, who cares, I love it! When done right it really captures the view the way I saw it. Sure you can overdue it really easily but it adds a nice new dimension.
