I've been getting a lot of CELs for Cat below efficiency. I got a sim to rid me of needing to reset codes every day "while off-road (wink wink)." It sounds like yours may be more of a bad sensor but the nice thing about the URD Sim is that it allows the OBD to function normally for a bad sensor. That's one of the main reasons I got it. It would help identify if the sensor was actually going bad or if it was simply the cat not working as well as it should. Besides, it could future proof me a little if I end up with the supercharger and decide to alter the exhaust system some.

Thanks for the info, were you getting p0420 code only or were you getting other codes?

Link for reference so I can quit searching for it.

i got the sim when i went with the DT long tubes

no more O2 sensor codes for me :D

i occasionally get a code after running through water, so if you go that route, make sure you seal up the sim well...i threw it in a plastic zip lock and duct taped the hell outta it :D

if it gets wet, i was able to let it dry and it worked fine after. still on my original sim

you going to do any exhaust upgrades now you have the s/c?

P0420 only for me. The actual sensor codes will still pop with the SIM though. That's why I like it, you'll still know when they go bad. I doubt it will solve your problem right now as it sounds like the sensor but it's not a bad investment in my opinion.

Great info on the SIM, I don't think I'm there yet but headed that way. On the exhaust I currently have DT header and Jardine catback the only upgrade I have considered is the SIM and putting the cat up for adoption....

Cool, I'm going to replace the sensor for now but thinking the SIM is the next step.

Talked to Jerry he has my ORI's and is just waiting to test fit the top hats so it shouldn't be to much longer. Picked up new UCA's as well to finish out the front.

Holy crap I feel like I have been all over this site, but for some reason I missed one of the most impressive builds around.

Your truck is a beauty & a beast! How many miles are you up to?

You truck shatters everything I thought was possible.

36" Tires, Supercharger on 100,000 mile motor, 20 mpg!!!

    Mind = Blown!

Change is good, I'm stoked about trying a new set up.

Thanks, the truck is up to 116K now I lost some MPG's with the S/C but it is still around 18.5 which is fine by me with the extra power.

Thanks, it made a huge difference in how much fun it is to drive.

These should make it more fun to drive just waiting on the regulator to get here.

Yeah thats my only problem about getting a S/C, its fun but whats the utility for it? about 90% of my truck I can give a good reason why I can buy it, whether it be for resale or making the truck last longer... Currently I only see getting a S/C for the fun haha

nicely done on the parts there... should be freaking sweet!

If you look at it that way then there is no need or reason to consider a S/C, it is an expensive addition in my case the truck needed a boost which makes it more fun to drive. I think a lot of stigma exists with S/C's based on several things like the past experiences "that you heard about" and competition with the turbo combined with older designs. Consider that Toyota markets the TRD S/C's and I know of several high mileage S/C vehicles FJ80's, a few 3.4's and 4.0's. I don't think a reasonably tuned S/C will shorten the life of my truck if it does at least I enjoyed driving it and its a good excuse to put a D4D in it.

Had time this weekend to get the sliders, bumpers, and rock rings on the TRD wheels re-painted I didn't realize how much difference paint would make. I'm still waiting for the fill kit to show up to charge the ORI's so that will be next weekends project.

My new favorite paint it's not black more like gunmetal but it'll work.

Had to take the grinder with a wore out flap wheel to clean these up but they have served a purpose and saved my wheels.
