pretty much and im not half bad to begin with..but PC has definite advantages. of course..they could program it to give the console guys a chance..but who knows..

 

I finally have my laptop back. been almost a month i havent used it. took it to a different place to try and correct the blank screen issue I keep having, but of course they couldnt recreate the issue

so i get to use my laptop until it turns on one day and the screen doesent work ( will probably happen within the week) then i can take it to them again to replace the mother board.

 

the motherboard? why would you think its that?

 

well the FIRST time i took it to have it looked at a shop they tried to fix the video cable, power cable blah blah blah. then they looked and saw that the bios wasnt sending anything at all for the screen...or something like that. so they told me it was the motherboard. but they dont do asus boards so im like ok whatever. then my dad finds this place that does replace asus boards and i took it to them to get it fixed and they couldnt replicate the issue.

the issue is intermittent, it happens one day, dark screen. i shake it around, take it to school and it works.

I have a steam flow meter, I dont have my power eng books on site with me and I cant really find the answer on google!!!

My lowest flowrate my flow meter will read is 50m3/hr of superheated steam, I need to know what the m3 of cold water equivalent per hour is, m3cew/h I seem to recall the number 1000, BUT i cant give a definitive answer on yes or no this meter will handle .5 m3cew/h of steam(which steam is usually measured in kg/h)




Maybe im talking out my arsehole, maybe ask a prof hahahaha

 

okay i found it... 1000 is for kg/h using density of steam 998.xxx

stupid math arr, i cheated and used an offline version of a PLC p steam block calculator lolololol


and if you be curious my response to the customer hahahaha

AL1-092-FT-0x03 - minimum steam flow is 55m3/hr which is equivalent of .63 m3cwe/hr, a maximum flow rate of 3192m3/hr which is an equivalent of 36.8 m3cwe/hr
AL1-092-FT-0x02 - minimum steam flow is 31.7m3/hr which is equivalent of .37 m3cwe/hr, a maximum flow rate of 1843m3/hr which is an equivalent of 21.25 m3cwe/hr


If we go with a low flow cutoff of 1% of the ranged output 0 - 1200 m3/hr, 12 m3/hr = 0.14 m3cwe/hr
0 - 600 m3/hr, 6 m3/hr = 0.07 m3cwe/hr

both, thats why i had to convert to kg/h, and divide by the density of steam, its why I knew about the 1000 factor



cwe is cold water equivalent, so steam is generally talked about in kg/h or ton/h, the CWE is usually in m3/h, so its why i was confused as fuck, its all hypothetical based on the a known pressure and temperature, and your steam qualities being 100%, but in reality you'll never get 100% effecient steam, as you have to factor cold pipe, corners, pipe length, water qualities, gas qualities BLAHHHH

i should have just used a PLC in offline mode and "p steam block" to calculate it lol, would have saved my excel sheet formula I built to get it all figured out

 

hahaha yah that's where chad's toolbox comes in handy.... and get good with excel lol, I have SOOOOOOOOO many random excel files with custom equations and cheats lol

yah, we deal more with the actual physical measurement of the product/system versus the control theory

need to size flow meters, pipe sizing, up stream down stream and so on.... i think there is obviously ALOT of the same thing, but just a different way of looking at it
