I don't always have Sean as a passenger though :D

And I'm pretty sure even he couldn't have moved a 40' tall 12" diameter Aspen buried under 4' of earth at each end. But a $50 electric chainsaw made short work of it!

Yeah we had prolly 9 people on said trip when we moved the tree. Like I said I'm not arguing that it would be good. I just fell that if you have another need for a chain saw then the saw would be the best hands down. But a good saw is an expensive purchase for just wheeling when other things will work.

I think electric saws are ok in a pinch but i would advise a little practice before heading out with it. Electrics are a little different of an animal from gas and are more prone to a high speed kick back due to much higher torque than a gas motor or a similar size. Also just from my experience, the clutches of a gas seem more forgiving than electric. More importantly I highly highly advise if you are going to be doing any sawing to get a pair of chaps. You can pick them up for around 50 bucks and it will be 50 well spent. Couple of years ago i was clearing a downed tree and unbeknownst to me someone had nailed a sign on it many years ago. You couldn't see the nail as it was inside the tree but when I hit it the chain snapped and whipped across the front of me. If I had not had chaps on I would have suffered massive damage to my man areas.

That looks cool. Would be perfect for backpacking where you really want to conserve weight.

 Sounds like good advice. The chaps I'm envisioning though don't cover man areas... Or asses. Is there another kind of chaps that do?

yeah see.. maybe I'm looking at the picture wrong but I see "junk exposure"

this subject is getting a little bit uncomfortable but he specifically mentioned the chaps protecting his "man parts" and I'm confused.

Screw it! I will just bring matches and a bucket of water and burn the damn tree out of the way. Oh and a diving suit to keep the water from getting my man parts too cold. :D
