That's good to hear at least. Mine was immediately after I did the ECGS bushing/Needle bearing replacement install. So it has to be something to do with that.

Either the fucker isn't in all the way or something. Hopefully its not the CV joint itself.

fixed my front diff vibes with a fancy arb locker in the front, couldn't be any happier. no more annoying vibes that come and go as they please and a locker for when i need it.

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
    Sub'd.

Just over 27k on my 2011 and she's growling/humming in the front end. Problem is worse when it's cold out (as I would expect), seems to be the loudest at 25-45mph, and goes away when I engage 4WD. I originally thought it was premature failure of the wheel bearing, but the stealership checked them out and they are ok.

I'll update when I get a chance to go back to the dealership.

Its your needle bearing. Get under there and grab the driver side front shaft where it runs into the diff. You will have a lot of play up and down. Seems to be common problem, but my dealership said they haven't seen that problem before. I think they just don't want to acknowledge the issue.

I like that option! A few questions:
    How much for everything?
Where did you put the compressor?
    Did you change gearing?
Any other info you could provide may help in the decision. Thanks

Got it done at my local 4x4 fab shop. $1750 canadian for each end, thats gears lockers master install kit and solid pinion spacers.

I bought the arb twin compressor in its going under the hood where the intake is, intake is going to be rerouted.

I went to 4.88 gears and love it but I think most would like 4.56 better.

Well first off, no more vibes, the truck is smooth a silk on the road again.

Second, I have a compressor that can fill my 315/75/16's from flat to 35psi in a minute. And run air tools with a small tank.

Third, I have a front locker if I ever need it.

Fourth I have my torque back, which is so nice for my auto transmission, no more shifting in and out of overdrive on the highway.

Ah. Don't own a gopro and I'm not willing to stuff my $1700 camera and lens down there and go for a drive in winter. :p

Wow that's some serious cash! I would only need the front (have elocker rear) and probably no regear since I have only 32's and don't plan on going bigger anytime soon. I like the idea of putting the compressor under the hood (high and dry). The vibe is hardly noticeable with the Duratracs, so I have time to make that decision. Sounds like an awesome setup you have though. Thanks!

It is an upgraded replacement for a bad front diff side bearing. It is a true fix for that.

^^ For new people reading this, Texoma is one of the true veterans from the start of this quest to find a fix. How many miles you got racked up on that bushing now Texoma?

It's not really a bearing, it's a bushing. No moving parts to fail.

Bout to roll 100k on the odo, and that will put 52k on the bushing. Still smooth as glass.

would be interested to see what kind of wear marks are on the CV shaft and bushing after 50k miles.

    Hi Guys
New to the forum, 94K on my '07 Taco 4X4 and yesterday the dealer tells me that I need a new front dif. for $2500!!! Because of vibration and a new RF wheel bearing $550!

Right, I am dumb but not that....My local dealer is a special kind of rip off artist they even markup parts 20% over list.

Read many of the posts and want to put an ECGS bushing in the truck. Anybody interested in selling, renting, loaning the tool set for removal of the old and install of the new bushing? Or better yet do you have a shop that has experience doing the job? I am in Oregon.

It is great that Chase came up with this reasonable fix. Thanks Chase!

    Thanks

^^ Wow. See, aren't you glad you found TW? However I would not disagree with the wheel bearing, in fact I would do both fronts. Why? Because I had a long discussion with an SKF wheel bearing engineer about our truck's bearings. He told me their design life was 100k mi. So if you are going to keep your truck, at 94k you may find yourself back in there sooner than later. FWIW I did the ECGS bushing on mine at 20k mi. I ended up doing both front wheel bearings too as they were bad.

    Oh, and welcome.
