Lift does not mean being able to mount a larger tire size. Camber, wheel offset, and tire size are the keys to no issues with tall tires. I'm running almost 34" tires with pretty much no lift and pretty much no rubbing.

Oh boy here we go with the guessing again and we all know how that works out ..........................

Just some facts for you - I have BFG MT's they are called KM2's and mine are in great shape. Every single one of the guys I know who wheel hard and often have them from Jeeps to every big rig at the Holeman show. My buddy Pat and Dave and both are running them in 38's.

I think you are referring to a "cupped" tire but based on your explanation I have no clue.

Many people have run BFG MTs without incident. I almost bought a set from a jeeper. Not the best choice for a DD though, but wicked cheap. If I were you i'd buy used tires. searchtempest.com can help you search CL. 4R guy found a set of BFG ATs for like 400 with 75% tread left. Good deals to be had. I have a class later and it's really boring. FB Message me if you need help looking :D

The 255/75/17 BFG MT are the original KM's which I have. Awesome tire but you have to rotate them religiously or they will cup. Sorry to butt into y'all's thread, just wanted to share my insights

Your always welcome in the NJ thread. We only cannibalize our own :)

Thats cupping. Tell your friends to stop being lazy and rotate their tires. Issue resolved.

I rub the frame at full lock. Inside of the tire rubs due to it's circumference. Nothing can be done about it and it causes no issues.

Yeah, something important to point out for you tire noobs looking for info. The old KM and new KM2 are vastly different tires. And you can still find old KM's out there so be sure of what you are looking at/reading about.

The only size I've been able to find the KM's in are 255/75 and that's only because they put them on the Rubicons

    Lift doesn't matter.

You can't just lift your truck and throw 44's under it.

Your bump stop is your limiting factor. So no matter what size lift you use if you wheel you will hit the bump stop meaning the tire still travels in the same exact place with/without a lift.

The way you stop from ripping off fenders is not getting tires so wide they rip them off - like I did. Ant still rubs his and he has a much taller lift with a 1" body lift. My tires don't stick out wide like his so even though he is lifted more my larger tires clear a-ok.

You see these guys throwing 35's on recently like they are the shit and in reality they are doing a TON of work to clear a tire only marginally taller then I'm running and I ain't done jack shit but remove my front mud flaps.

Sure big tires are cool and all, but larger the tire the easier it is to break shit so remember that. I could also use some gears and since you have a 4banger you'll be a total slug with 255's.

Bfgs ftmfw I miss my old all terrains. IMO I think they have the best all terrain tire. Now for my mud terrains that everyone rips on, I love them and haven't had a problem yet. I have about 5-6k on them now so I will rotate them asap. No complaints or problems so far. They still look like new
