As far as the pets. At one time she lived under normal circumstances ( I assume) and having pets is a normal part of a family. I would not just toss my dog aside if times got hard. Especially considering the childrens attachment. but fuck a reptile and cats.

If you are completely honest with her and she can't accept that, you've lost nothing. If she understands and you guys continue to date while she lives with family, well, things may work out.

Either way, how she reacts to you being completely honest will tell you a lot.

Just tell her that after thinking it over, the house just isn't big enough. Sounds like it needs 4 bedrooms and you only have 2. Also, if she's going to be 'living' with you, check out your state laws about commonlaw marriage and community property. You never know.
