I spotted a Silver 1st gen extra cab with a shell, gunmetal F-5's, BFG KM2's, Camburg UCA's and Icon coilovers I believe, in the Home Depot parking lot in Capitola. I've never seen the truck before, but it was clean and figured he'd be on the forums since he had F-5's.

Awesome! I just moved up to pollock pines a few weeks ago, and I have yet to get up to loon lake but it looks beautiful! I work now with the el dorado county resource conservation district doing mostly watershed stuff, and even though loon lake is in another county I'm sure I'll get up there eventually!

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. :D

But I don't think they can legally lock people in who are camping there. They should be able to go in and out freely. There are first come first serve sites too.

Shouldn't be trespassing. People camp at Big Basin throughout the year. Only the backcountry primitive sites are closed between winter and beginning of spring.

Depending on the date, I'd be down for a snow or normal wheeling trip, sounded like someone (Ferny, I think) was saying we should do another trip before snow...

Anyone know what kind of discount employees get at Toyota? I need some OEM parts and might try to get my mother in laws boyfriend to get them since he works/owns a dealership.

Why aren't you getting it through him anyway? Anything is probably better than paying regular retail.

Oh I heard they don't bother the murderers that show up trying to ditch the bodies so you should be okay.

I probably will but he isn't at the dealership all the time and I hate askin him for stuff like that. I don't want him to think I'm using him or bug him about price checking it first before actually ordering it.

Just ask him what days he will be there because you want to bring him lunch one day. And then before you leave, and as he walks you to your car, tell him that you have to stop by the parts dept on the way out.

Geeze... my sales guy...he so sweet. He will see that my truck is at the dealership and if he doesnt' see me, he goes to the parts or service dept where I am. And he will come and say hello.

Twice I've chatted with him there and when I went to pay for my purchase after he left the parts dept, the guy behind the counter tells me it's been paid for. :(

I guess somehow he calls the guy when I'm there and has him charge it to him. I don't like it when he does that. He's like a grandpa to me.

If he owns the dealership, he probably would just give stuff away if it's a one time thing.

If he manages a dealership, but doesn't own the franchise, he'll probably just give you stuff at cost which is roughly 15-25% off depending on the item. There're certain things that can't be marked up much, and there're certain things that are super marked up. I would check w/ the prices from Camelback Toyota and knock another 10-15% off as a rough gauge.

What stuff are you looking at??

I have never met a sales guy like him. He offered to refer my son to get a job there, He calls on every holiday to say "Happy -----day", He even helped my friend fix her paperwork when she realized she didn't have enough money for a down on a car because she was waiting for a check and the govt shut down.

She ended up not buying the car but he understood she may not and still helped her.

Ya I am stoked (at least for now) to finally be living up where it will snow. I've always loved the area so living in it full time will be awesome! And my new job has me outside a good amount so its going to be a good year :)
