Yeap, I had to replace a battery on a Sebring. What you do is remove your wheel and access the battery through the splash guard. Easiest way to do it.

That's insane. So basically they want you go the stealership to get it changed.

The engineer probably figured handling was more important than ease of service. You don't see Chryslers with the Taco Lean.

True, but my Tacoma is tipping its hat with its lean at the broken down Chryslers on the side of the road. :D

That engineer probably got a big bonus. Now the guys AutoZone wont do free battery replacement. Time to rake in some extra dough as a dealer is the only way your average Joe will be able to get it replaced.

That is so stupid, you can't jump start something like that. There was a cop on campus trying to find the battery in some ladys car the other day, I heard him tell her that it must be in the trunk.

I figured it was probably a car with the battery in an inaccessible location like this.

Hey, at least the headlight was easy to remove, not like some GM vehicles...

Yes, but the average person who is willing to change out the battery at least may not figure that out. Or want to go through the trouble.

I found out the hard way. My wife had a stratus when I met her. It had 2 posts under the hood to jump it, but the battery was in the driver side wheel well. Had to get out the manual to find it. :anonymous:

That's crazy. I'm glad that most things on the Tacoma are pretty accessible. Hardest thing I've come across so far was changing out the bulbs in the headlights. Not much room, but its still do-able.

It's amazing where they put batteries these days. On a BMW 5 series it is in the truck, buddies S4 it's tucked in under the cowling under the windshield. Where's the crazy alien dude from the history channel? That meme needs to say "Germans"

They have jump locations under the hood which are easily accessible. Not sure they knew what they were doing in that pic.

This is Chrysler's techconnect instructions for removing battery...

    REMOVAL
The battery is accessible without removing the right front wheel and tire assembly..

Verify that the ignition switch and all accessories are OFF.
Turn the steering wheel to the full right position.
Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable remote terminal from the remote battery post.
WARNING: NEVER GET UNDER A LIFTED VEHICLE IF NOT SUPPORTED PROPERLY ON SAFETY STANDS.

Remove the air cleaner housing. Refer to the index for the location of the procedure.
Remove battery splash shield. Refer to the Body section of the service manual for the procedure.
Disconnect the heater blanket cord, if equipped.
Remove the two short bolts from the battery hold down and remove the hold down.
Disconnect the positive battery cable from the battery.
Slide the battery toward rear of vehicle.
Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.
    Remove battery from vehicle.

So Hyundai will be introducing a new AWD system with the next-gen Genesis. Guess what it's called?
