Vegas is a fun time. I went in 2012 for SEMA. Lost a bit of money in the casinos too. Luckly my wife had better luck than I. On the slots to boot.

The casinos can cover all of their expenses for the hotel, casino, restaurants, taxes, employees...everything is paid for from the profits they take in on the slot machines. The rest of the hotels rooms and games are what pay for the gold crusted marble floors and crazy, over the top decorations...

Those places make soo much money off of those people...

    Makes me want to gamble...

Thats it...NEXT TW MEET SHOULD BE AT HARDROCK!!! BLACKJACK here I come...

Hahaha ok That gambling bug is hitting you.
It always feels like the casinos are rigged down here though.

But when my uncle and aunt play in Oklahoma man they
Win big every other weekend or so. Enough to remodel their
House to give you an idea

They are rigged. Anywhere you go it's rigged. They can control how often you win, so since there's a ton of rich people here they probably don't care if you win as often, whereas they'd let you win more in Oklahoma.

The goal is to play a game...find a system that forces you to win, and not deviate from it. Unfortunately, that takes a lot of money. Especially if you are loosing and have to up your next bet over and over until you win big...

I deal blackjack as a side gig...there are ways to win...

If you've ever seen the episode of Pawn Stars where they buy the slot machine, you'd know why I'll never play slots.

I've always had better luck in Reno than in Las Vegas. Smaller locations = better chances IMO.

If I do go to Las Vegas it will also include a trip to the Grand Canyon & the Hoover Dam. I wouldn't make the trip to one of theses alone. It's not worth it in my opinion if you don't visit all 3 but I'm not much of a gambler.

Now.... Having said that, if any of you want to get together for an hour or 2 one night @ the Hard Rock (I've never been there) then that might not be a bad idea. Instead of getting together this time to off-road, we get together to do damage another way!

    LOL!

    BTW,
My next trip out of Florida (God willing) may be Beech Mountain in NC. Try snow tubing & snow boarding or what ever else can be done there. My family & I have been there before, along with Banner Elk, Stone Mountain, Sugar Mountain, Grandfather Mountain, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Cherokee & a few other areas of the Smoky Mountains in general. We've seen snow on the ground in late March/early April & temps in the low 20's but no snowfall. I want to go in the winter time which will be a first for us.

I thought of going in the Tacoma but 2WD (even with chains) can be risky so I was on the fence about it. Then I find out that they salt the roads after it snows so that was the final nail in the coffin for that idea. I've seen cars in my shop from up north that are 4 or 5 years old & they look like scrap metal underneath. I would like to rent a 4WD 4Runner but don't see those for rent anywhere, 2WD or otherwise. I'll probably rent what I usually go with. A minivan or a Chevy Tahoe. The Tahoe will be 4WD of couse.

Any of you been to Beech Mountain or that area in general in the winter? Any pics or experiences you'd like to share?

I wonder if they salt the roads in Nashville. I wanna move there but I'd hate to have to sell my taco cause of salty roads :(
