My wife's battery on her 12 Durango is under passenger seat. Easy to change and out of the elements. Just slide seat forward and pop compartment open.

Drivers side has the same compartment to hide stuff in.

lool, Have you seen the next-gen Genesis? It looks bad ass
I will probably never own a Hyundai because I feel that they are built way too cheaply. My mom used to own a 2011 Sonata Limited, I felt that it was so cheap (not to mention it had quite a few expensive problems)

But they are really stepping up their game here in the past few years.

^There are typically a set of jumping posts under the hood, in a convenient location.

on my g6 you had to remove the front bumper cover to change headlight bulbs. the front bumper cover was held on with plastic pins, after 2 head light bulb changes the plastic pins got stripped. it then recieved drywall screws before i traded it in, the gm designers think up some highly retarded shit.

I'm sorry but I seriously hope not. Maybe it's because I work for a decent auto company but that would never fly at Honda. Raising the CG height by .05" by placing the battery in an accessible location would always be worth the ease of customer maintenance.

You sure about that? I can barely get my hands in the engine bay of my '07 Fit, everything is crammed in there. Took forever to replace the alternator last week because of a seemingly inaccessible bolt made 10x worse since I couldn't fit any tools in there.

Fucken hate working on japanese vehicles. That goes for the taco as well. Just some really stupid, inconvenient ways to put it together.

I do pretty good working on both my Taco and my '99 Hyundai Accent (Korean not japanese). On the other hand, my dad's '97 GMC Sierra, my mom's '07 Chevy Cobalt, and my brother's '00 Ford Explorer have been nightmares to work on.

Most recent example, about a month ago I helped my brother put a new serpentine belt on. The tensioner pulley is located towards the bottom of the motor so I pulled the plastic skid and had to weave my hand up through everything to get to it, then I struggled to get a wrench on there and once I did I almost didn't have room to put my hand on it cuz my hand was in the fan shroud/radiator so bad. The literally put the fan as close to the pulleys are they possibly could. It ended up being a ridiculous 2 person job that took about 45 minutes.

I looked up the hood of my Tacoma and there is a lot of space between the engine and the fan, seriously like 4 times as much space. On my Hyundai, it has 4 bolts instead of a serpentine and I can swap out all 4 by myself faster than we did his and it doesn't even have one of those sweet tensioner pulleys. You just tighten down the alternator to tightened up all the belts.
