Weird. I've always found japanese vehicles to be one of the easiest. They actually put thought into stuff.

The thing that I was impressed with is my truck didn't come with a factory clock. So I got one and took off the little faceplate. I was thinking there's no way I'm going to be able to find the factory plug and it's probably fallen behind the dash. Nope. They made a fake plug in the back of the faceplate so it was right there waiting for me lol

ahhhh, I remember the good 'ol days with a '65 chevy truck, 262 straight six, just climb on up, plop ur ass down on a fenderwell and git workin. Or my 68 Nova with a 350 in 'er, yeppers, the distributor is right there, the starter is right there, the water pump, fuel pump, hey lookie here, see that little screw thingie on the carb? That's the fuel/air mix and that one over there is the idle screw!
Hmmmm, I hear a slight misfire on the left side......hey look, it's a worn plug wire arcing against the block, time for new wires, probably should check the plugs and clean the points while i'm at it and viola! She's purring like a kitten!

    ahhh the good ol days

My buddy had a 57 Bel Air with a 283. I swear to god you could stand on the ground INSIDE the engine bay. No flashlights and mirrors and upside down and backwards just to locate components.

To top it off, they have the stupid keys that are like $100+ to replace. I got this jigsaw puzzle from the dealership (already broken and only key they gave me ) and I have to hold it together every time I want to start the damn thing. Thankfully my truck has no alarm system, remote start, etc and has manual windows and locks.

I remember my parents old nova with a 350 sbc. Literally everything could be done in zero time in a driveway with normal hand tools.

Just a bunch of old crap
Maybe the guy who stole the $159 jacket and got life in prison had already been convicted of a trillion other offenses and the court finally said "one more time, and I'm thowing the book at you!". Odds are that most of those in that story are life-long criminals with a serious history of offenses that just added up, and the latest offense was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Usually the case. However, a life of petty crimes should not garner a harsher sentence than one crime that widows a wife and leaves multiple children fatherless.

Yeah, no shit. Sometimes they just give them ridiculously long sentences just to fill any empty space in the prisons. I remember one kid we had at our prison got 7 years for stealing his mom's checkbook or some shit. Another was doing time because he didn't pay his child support.

I think most non-violent crimes shouldn't get prison sentences at all. Just a waste of taxpayer money. The whole pc 'corrections' hug-a-thug atmosphere is pretty much a complete joke. Often times inmates who might have been halfway decent kids if 'corrected' properly end up worse because they're put into an environment jam packed with all the other f&%#-ups and it just goes downhill from there.

Yeah, when you read the article you can see that a law that is similar to the one in California is in place there in Louisiana. There it is "4 strikes and life without parole" So it's not just the that guy stole a jacket, but that he has 3 other prior convictions of theft. Funny thing is, if enough people got tired of these laws costing us BILLIONS in tax dollars to keep them in prison, then we could simply petition for this law to be changed, or removed completely.
