What's the General Consensus on ARB Rear Locker

I really want a rear locker for the heavy snow we get. How's the ARB? Any others to consider? What's the install like? Where do you guys mount the compressor?

from what i've read it seems like everyone who DIDNT buy it says its too expensive and everyone who DID buy it says it was expensive but worth every penny

 

Uh lockers and snow don't normally mix to well, a LSD would be better. Now if your going to be wheeling then a locker is definitely better, and ARB's are quite popular and most have nothing but good things to say.

 

Wouldn't it help if he was stuck in deep snow?

For general driving, I agree, it wouldn't be useful. But if OP wanted to go truck through areas where he could get stuck - the locker would help.

 

i see both points and seeing as how the OP has a sport which come with LSD why not just Lock the Front?

 

True OP didn't specify which circumstance he will be using it for.

Street=LSD
Offroad=locker

what did you need one for?

 

sport model has stronger axle

 

go out with no problems, trail running, helps a lot going through wash... I can go a lot of places I normally couldnt.. piece of mind

If I didnt have MT I would've gotten the bigger one to fill my tires up... but MT makes the ride now-a-days so smooth its pointless to air down

 

yea i have been thinking of getting the bigger one but 500 bones is kinda of lot :/.

 

Op here is where i mounted mine but, if have room on passenger side i would recommend there or even in the back.

 

not for general driving in snow but if I get stuck. We get huge windrows left by the plows that I need to get through. Also best price I found is here.

For the locker try looking here Eastcoastgearsupply.com or even call yotamasters to see if you can get a better deal on the locker. Heck 4 wheel parts might price match.
