    To come.
I've been researching wheels for a while and I've come across many companies that make some kind of bead-lock style wheel. While I don't like most of them, this one caught my attention:

    http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/wheels.php?item=ClassicBajaLock

Which got me thinking. Since I don't generally like fake scoops and vents...

Are bead-lock style wheels OK or LAME? Let's run a poll as well.

It is all a matter of whether you like them or not! Personally I wish I had a set of the Baja rims since they look sick

Seen them in person on vehicles. Look great in my opinion. They also make different color "bead locks" that you can buy as well.

I think they look OK. Personally I choose not to run them because the fake ring is dead weight and traps dirt/corrosion.

Are they any more lame than TRD stickers and painted chrome bumpers? It's all aesthetics and it's all around us. Whatever, who cares.... just don't do what I do and tell everyone that your hood scoop is a turbo air-intake;)

They're tougher than you'd think too. Spinning out on rocks after popping the bead on a tire.

Bead-lock style wheels aren't lame. Being able to air down to near nothing PSI is fun though :D

I would personally go with the real deal if you like to take your truck in the dirt a lot.

Wow those are not cheap! I'll stick with my steel non-beadlock wheels. Lowering to 12.5psi is enough for me haha

Yea, they are not very light either. Is it overkill?...yes. Do I ever worry about my tires blowing a bead?...nope.

It's not a matter of if they "look cool" or not. The purpose of a beadlock is to allow you to air down much lower than normal, so that you can get the best grip on the rocks. If you are just looking for appearance, then it is a "to-each-their-own" type of thing, but for their purpose, they are GREAT to have.

    Real bead locks are cool.

Ones that LOOK like them but don't function like them... are lame.

That's what I thought the OP was asking about....fake bead locks.
