What are "fees".....sales tax, licensing etc ?
If they're not dealer items, that's a pretty good drop from MSRP.

You can search Edmunds.com and/or Consumer Reports to get a good idea on what the dealer paid.

    Hi:
Just wanted to provide some feedback for those purchasing a new (or used) Taco.
Those TW members that serve in the millitary should use the USAA car buying service, you build your own Taco, add whatever packages, color and you will see current discounts, prices and recommended dealers.

I searched by zip code discovering that ATLANTA GA distributors provide better prices. So I searched California, Texas, Arizona and found that Atlanta is still the lowest. I ended up paying 23,569 OTD for A 2009 DOUBLE CAB, Automatic, with sport package, and towing package.

Hope this help any of the TW members.

not to many, love it the way it is
    27,389 times .85 equals 23,280

times .85 to the asking price and that is about as low as a dealer ( .87 seems to be more average ) will go depending on the situation, how long has the vehicle been on the lot, do they need to sell it to make room for more.
Also, the end of the month, anytime after the 25th till the end is a better time to deal with the dealer, though some dealers have their own end of month scenario ( we must sell this much by this time... ) that only people who work at the dealership know about but usually on average from the 25th on is the best time

The doc fee is bogus. IMO, this is beer money for the sales staff picnic
    Lieu Tax?

You could check with your DMV to see what it would cost to do it yourself. You should have that right (option).

That's right around where I was at the end of June for my identical Taco; maybe a bit more after tax. They had added the TRD floormats & door sill protectors.

I'm looking at purchasing a new 2009 Tacoma 4x4 Reg Cab with the basic enhancement extra value package and no other options. The MSRP is $20,715. The dealer has it listed for $19,000 including the $1000 Toyota discount. Taxes and plate are additional.
Is this a good price? They wouldn't budge on it. I'd like to buy local but can check the surrounding cities if it will save over $500. Your input is appreciated.
