Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
about 6 months after i traded my 2008 for 14k i got an "offer" in the mail, one of those fake hand written we need you truck for our inventory letters for 12k

Then about a week after i traded my 2012 for 27900 i got a letter from the dealer i bought it from for the "outstanding" amount 25k with estimated 5k miles, so i called them and let them know i traded it for $27900 with over 8k miles.

both letters were completely identical and one was a toyota dealer, the other was a chevy dealer. Font, wording, it was the same letter. haha

22k sounds GREAT but its so pretty in the radiant red!

It's not new, it's not Mexico
You're not going to find a truck as nice as yours for $22000.

That's a lot of equity. I would have a very hard time turning it down! At some point that equity will start fading.

I agree, thats probably the highest i have heard for a 2008 recently

if they would also give you a good price on that FRS or a new taco it may be worth your while

I get those ad things/"letters" all of the time...if you read the fine print closely, it will say "up to $XXXX...". File 13 gets every one of them.

I traded my '08 in for my tundra in sept, and they gave me 20k. I loved my truck too, but this Tundra is the cats taint for sure...

Yep, same deal, except he caught you in person instead of through mail.

I mean if you're looking for a new vehicle anyway, then by all means see what they can do for you, but he's just poking around and feeling the waters for sales...

It will never be worth 22k again. The question is, do you want to drop another 10-18k on a new scion or tacoma. Only you can decide.

So tempting... But I've become emotionally attached to the taco...

It's the longest vehicle I've ever owned

A dealership is like a casino, the odds are always in the houses favor. But sometimes you get lucky.

Keep it... Especially if you have any doubt about it at all. (As I have read, you are attached to your tacoma. That's very understandable.) I bet you'll miss your truck.

Besides they just want to buy it from you so they can turn it around and throw it on the lot for $28k. And nobody wants that for their truck.

In the end do what makes you happy.

    enough to go over stuff
Its a beautiful truck. I plan on keeping mine forever. I will always have a need to own a truck for camping, snow, moving, hauling, ect... It will be my sons first car. I wouldnt be dumping money into mine if I was planning on getting rid of it in a few years.

I'm just like you man, except my truck aint paid off. But my other daily car/winter car, having no ac in az is rough, is a 99 civic. cept its built and boosted. but once they are no longer stock, the reliability diminishes. i take mine into my guy for tuning and checkups it seems every couple months. but hey, its a fun little go cart!

20k is hard to pass up

haha, no not yet... still got the truck. No solid plan on the future either, probably drive it for awhile. I might get an FRS as a second car and get rid of my civic.
