Replaced the Flowmaster with a Dynomax muffler. Thanks to all the TW reviews who pointed the transition in the correct direction. I can now hear the stereo and have a conversation. It still has a roar when you punch it to merge, but at 2,000 rpm (70 mph) the system is quiet.

    I don't know...

Mademan925 has pretty much the same set up as me and you can see how much he carries. I don't plan on carrying nearly that much.

I plan on using this in the basket which frees up the bed underneath.

    Find a different dealer:
    http://parts.camelbacktoyota.com/pa...&subgroup=AIR INTAKE&component=Filter element

MSRP is $22. If they quoted you $39.99, report them to Toyota corporate because they are screwing their customers up the ass without lube. That is totally unacceptable.
Would have happened with or without regular cleaning.
It's just the nature of "racing" filters, but the fanbois on the innerwebs won't listen to the facts. My '94 Toyota became an oil burner and I blame it on the K&N drop-in that I installed at 40k. A 22RE with under 200k on it should not have been burning a quart every 3,000.

Nothing filters better than the OEM filter.

The OEM filter and housing are capable of flowing more air than any normally aspirated Toyota engine can draw.

There are periods at the end of those sentences.

thanks. I didn't really get much over spray. I know I got some on the top leaf and the spare tire and I was going to pull those spots off after they dried, but I can't even see where they are now.

Besides the 35-40 mph throbbing vibes, it's really scary how much my driver's side shaft moves around when you grab it by hand!

Went for a drive with a friend and her brand new '13 TRD Off Road AC up to West Camino Cielo after I got an alignment post lift install. Love the new height and rides like a dream!

Really? My 94 or 93 Tercel became an oil burner, OEM filter the whole time. Went through a quart every two weeks before I traded it.

My 98 corolla was always between 2 and 3 quarts low by oil change time, with the OEM filters.

One of the local dealers told me to check the oil level in our 2007 Rav4 "every time you put gas in" because it burns oil. He claimed it was due to the thin 5w30 oil they use to squeeze out MPG, but that doesn't make sense to me when my bigger, older, 06 V6 tacoma isn't low come oil change time (which is running an AFE Pro Dry, FWIW). Either way, the Rav won't register on the dipstick by oil change time if we don't keep topping it off.

So don't say it's the filter causing oil burning. Every Toyota I've run an OEM filter in has become an oil burner, and they one vehicle that doesn't burn oil is running an aftermarket filter. So there goes your theory.
