Do you have any other upgrades to your system? I'd suggest running a small power wire with a ring terminal directly from your battery with an inline fuse. Or if you have an aftermarket stereo, tap into the lead wire from the deck's wiring harness, you an also pull the ground from the stereo wiring harness too.

It's super easy to pull the power wire through the cab and to the dash.

Wait, 5V relay? Sorry, I'm not too familiar with this so maybe my answer isn't what you're looking for...

Sport wheels added.
I tapped my switched 12v power going to my radio. Your power lead going to the SAT radio should have the proper reduction in voltage so it doesn't fry it.

Not sure what you are talking about when you say 5v relay.

I tapped the +12v to one of the accessory (cig lighter) sockets. Then placed the adapter and wires in the dash and ran the lead out to my XM XPress Rc radio on its bracket inserted below the climate control panel.

If you use the power adapter that comes with the Pro Install kit you won't have any problems. It has the correct transformer built in to step the voltage down to 5v.

For reference the fuse box in the engine bay for a 2009 next to the battery is also mini...

Ah ha, model year changes I guess. I have updated my original reply to state fact not assumption. Thanks!
