Been hunting a good bit on the weekends at my friends farm in Jefferson, GA. The times I've been in the stand all I've seen is lots of does and small 4-6 point bucks. But of course when I'm not there her uncle sends my pictures of these two he got on seperate days right after I had left

Saw quite a few this morning. saw 5 or 6 does at about 400 maybe 500 yards, way way to far for a muzzleloader. a few did move into the 200 yard range, still a little far.

than my red dot stopped working, and i had pass on a nice little spike or small 4 point that was at like 40 yards and moving a little but not full run.

    probably going back friday morning.

Saw a couple spikes this morning. Left my stand and there were deer everywhere in the fields on the way out. Went back this evening, more deer in the fields at like 2 pm. All does, though. Saw a really ugly (at least) 8 point this morning driving in. He could make it to where I was sitting within like 5 minutes, so I was hoping he'd come in so I could get him out of the gene pool. No luck, though.

oh nice. our bow season open like end of september and ran till last friday, Saturday muzzleloader opened. muzzleloader is only open 2 weeks here. not bad i like my 243 a little better any ways, and it will shoot a little farther. hope to get a bow by next summer and practice with it a bunch before the end of september. still got till like 1st week of next year to get some meat in the freezer, me and dad try not to pass on a lot of deer. some of the other guys hunting at the same place passed on a 4 point.

No CLOSED seasons for deer here, deer on Maui are NOT CONSIDERED "game animals". You are free to shoot as many as you want, any day of the year, all year round. They are considered "feral" animals and are eradicated all over the island.

Good for us hunters, no shortage of venison.

And the only kind of deer we have are axis deer, I've been told that people spend some big money to go on "exotic" hunts for axis deer, feel pretty lucky that I have the chance to do that any day of the week.

I have my bucket list hunt lined up for next October. Elk, moose and black bear in BC. I can't wait.

    nice.

we have some elk here. but they only give out like 5 hunting permits for them a year because the heard/numbers are kinda low and they not all over the state only like 2 or 3 places.

I'd be happy with a 9. There's no food for the deer around here. No one is really seeing anything. I have no clue where the deer are, but they're not anywhere that anyone I know is hunting. I've seen 7 this year. All anyone can do is go somewhere and hope they happen to walk through looking for food.

Same here. There's a pipeline parallel with the mountain road for camp. No deer in the woods, but 100+ on that grass strip right after dark. It's planted with clover so that's no surprise. I was lucky enough to see 4 bucks chasing a hot doe yesterday. 2 8s came within 40 yards but never gave me a good shot. Still have rifle season and flintlock to fill 3 tags
